2GB and NTFS

It seems that Zope on W2K with NTFS has a 2GB limit for data.fs. I heard that NTFS can handle files up to 4TB. Searching the archives I found: "The problem with file size is not in Zope, but something to do with Windows using a 32 bit integer for file size, pegging the limit at 2 gigs. Im not sure how some people solve this, but its a deep python / windows problem that will not be solved any day soon. " Is it possible to get a data.fs bigger than 2GB on W2K with NTFS? Restrict local roles in subfolder..HOW??

Dear All, I have encountered a real strange problem! I have given a local role called 'view' to 'user1' in the 'Folder1' so that 'user1' CAN access 'Folder1'. and there is a subfolder of 'Folder1' called 'Folder1.1' in which there are no local roles defined in it for 'user1' so that 'user1' CAN NOT access 'Folder1.1' When I try the above system then to my surprise 'user1' is still able to view the contents of 'Folder1.1' !!! (PS:-the view role has 2 permissions:- access contents information ,view. 'Folder1.1' is aquiring all the permisions from 'Folder1' Also I dont want change the Aquisitions of Folder1.1 or modify any permissions.This is the requirement of the project.) Kindly HELP ME ! hi I'm working on a website which should be online soon. Before we go online, we want to test the site. That's why we invited some people to test all the stuff for us. The site is built up like this: root folder - homepage_dir -- subdirs --- subdirs ... The index_html in the root folder should be displayed for all visitors, but the content in the homepage_dir (and subdirs) have to be password protected. How can I do this? Do I have to set the security permissions for every single file? I hope you understood my question :] regards Simon

Hi folks, Further to my earlier question about generated URLs for images, I think I have found a workaround. For the time being, I have given up on VirtualHostMonster and am using SiteRoot instead (setup as described in fritz's helpful HOWTO, "Configure Apache Virtual Hosts and Zope using SiteRoot". SiteRoot seems to correctly rewrite URLs in a manner which VHM doesn't (I seem to be getting screwy results with VirtualHostRoot in VHM). Putting dtml-var "images.example_jpg" in a SiteRooted folder rewrites it as img src="http://www.example.com/images/example_jpg" alt="name" width="n" height="n" which is exactly what I want. External Method Problem

Apache 2 Beta and Zope

Has anyone had any success getting Zope and the latest Apache 2.0.28 beta to play together? I had major problems with mod_rewrite (like it had not been updated to the new Apache architecture yet) and gave up. Any success stories? Check Security Permissions for a User?

hello, I played with the following code in a dtml-method to check if a user has a certain permission (e.g. "Manage Properties"): <dtml-var "_.SecurityGetUser().has_permission('Manage Properties',this())"> This results in 1 if the User has the permission or None if not... everything is fine so far. But when I do check for a nonexisting permission, like: <dtml-var "_.SecurityGetUser().has_permission('Really Unknown PermisionXXX',this())"> the result would be 1 too... What is the reason for this SecurityPolicy? Why not an exception? Or 0? thank you for advice Maik Jablonski.

Please have a good poke about on: http://new.zope.org Zope Corp has worked on the software, and we believe that it is now ready for the community to take over, but we do want you to go around and try things out first, and most of all file reports about problems you find, so we can make a last round of fixes. Note that in this process we have completely cleared out the old new.zope.org database, and re-migrated all content from www.zope.org again, so you will not find anything there you previously may have created on this site. Also, the user database from www.zope.org has been re-exported, so all new accounts created just for new.zope.org are gone as well. New accounts on www.zope.org are now of course available on new.zope.org as well.
