Hi, I want to create an ZClass instance method - which is a form that calls another method in the same instance ie FAQ ZClass faq1 is instance of FAQ ZClass call the AddFaq form using the faq1 instance in a test dtml method <dtml-var "faq1.Addfaq( faq1, _ )"> Inside the FAQ ZClass there are two instance methods 1) The form AddFaq and the action 2) doAddFaq In the AddFaq form the action property of the form contains <form name=fred action=doAddFaq> The test script finds the AddFaq form but the doAddFaq instance method is not found. What do I need to wrap around the form <dtml-with .... to get the form to find the instance method? TIA Dave

For what it's worth, something I noticed under (the Win32 version of) Python 2.1.x is that, in a threaded environment, Python will crash if it an attempt to load some extensions (my case was a c-extension that accessed a database). I suspect that's why Chris is asking those questions. Sean, this might not be what you need, but perhaps it's worthwhile anyway. Instead of periodic backups, can't you just use a special object manager for that folder which you want to backup? For instance, override _setObject to instead of just doing it's stuff on self, doing it also on your backup storage. Take %Y%Y%Y%Y%M%M%D%D as the destination folder id (autocreated) and you have your weekly archive. If these destination folder are transparent to acquisition, you could also have the same behavior as the original folder, while having all weekly revisions of your objects. forms: copying objects from request to request

I have the following problem: I have a form in dtml documentA where there is some variable x and the user gives some value to x, using the form. The dtml document associated with the action of the form of DocumentA is called DocumentB. If the submit button is pressed, DocumentB is loaded and the variable x is visible from REQUEST. Let's say DocumentB has also a form in it where there is some other variable (but not x). The form in DocumentB has associated with the action another document, called DocumentC. If the submit button is pressed DocumentC is loaded. Variables in form of DocumentB are visible from DocumentC. However, variable x in form of DocumentA is not visible from DocumentC. What should I do, in order to use the value of variable x in DocumentC. I believe I must, somehow, copy the value of x from REQUEST of A to B to the new REQUEST from B to C. ?hanks in advance, Panos Hilaris

problems getting absolute url of a newly created file

Hey All: I'm very new to zope and am not understanding how to do the following... I've have a form that collects some information and a uploads a file. Once the user hits submit I want to create a new file in a 'submissions' folder, and then send an email to someone that contains an absolute url that links to the newly created file. Accessing properties of child objects

Hello, I just wanted to rander the contents of a TInyTable object as follows: <h2>Title</h2> Col1 - Col2 - Col3<br /> ... I just tried: <h2><dtml-with tinytable><dtml-if title><dtml-var title><dtml-else>No Title</dtml-if></dtml-with></h2> <dtml-in tinytable> <dtml-var Col1> - <dtml-var Col2> - <dtml-var Col3><br /> </dtml-in> But I seem to misunderstand some principles about aquisition of properties because the title is every time the title of the base dtml document the TinyTable is presented in. I tried to do some other things but never got the right solution :-(. Could anybody please enlighten me? Kind regards Andreas.

How to get off version trouble?

Dear friends, It's probably an dummy question or a bug in Zope 2.4.2 on GNU/Linux Debian (deb from Testing ). I create a new version, then work on it. I try to delete the version i'm working on. Then I begin work on a version named "No longer active". After that I try to undo what I have done, but still with no luck. Any idea? Sincerely yours, Terry

"ZopeTime is not defined" error

I've got a product with a ZClass inside it. The constructor for the ZClass uses the ZopeTime trick to generate autoIDs. When I'm in the ZMI as a manager, it works fine. When I'm outside of the ZMI, using a form/method combo that calls the constructor, even if I'm authenticated with my management account, I get the ZopeTime error. I've already scoured the lists, and I've tried the modification to OFS.Application (ZopeTime__roles__=None) to no avail. Setting the proxy roles to manager, and setting the security for Access Contents Information doesn't help, either.
