Hi folks, Perhaps this is already well known but I'm new to this list. There seems to be a failure Zope 2.4.3 in lib/python/ZPublisher/HTTPResponse.py, Line 362 The code self.body=('%s\n<base href="%s" />\n%s' % (body[:index], self.base, body[index:])) produces invalid HTML code (check it with http://validate.w3.org) as of the "/>". Data.fs + WebDAV vs. LocalFS + Samba

The idea is that endusers can drag'n'drop files under MS-Windows, and immediately have those files -- password protected via Zope -- available on the web. This is for a design house that needs to make videos, web pages, etc. available to clients for review with HTTP. I see my two options as: 1. Mount the Zope server as a WebDAV drive under MS-WindowsXP, then just drag'n'drop there 2. Use LocalFS to give Zope access to some directory, and then share that directory with Samba Any comments on the advantages/disadvantages of each? I'm leaning towards the Samba solution, because Win98 and MacOS 9.x don't support WebDAV natively. Also, with LocalFS I have the "type_map" property, which is really useful. I am *still* shocked and amazed that there is no such property for standard Zope folders--what good is WebDAV access without it? --Derek

Thanks. I looked at the ObjectManager code in mxm. What I'm really looking for is a way to subclass zObjectManager in a python base class and have the "subobjects" management tab show up in a ZClass that subclasses my python base class. It works fine when I create a ZClass that subclasses a ZCLass that subclasses ZClasses: ObjectManager, but I can't get it to work from a python base class. Any more help on this is greatly appreciated. Well, I just tried 2.5.0 on Windows NT and and old ZODB I use for all sorts of Zope versions. That had a Squishdot site in it and I created a new one in it too... So, unfortunately, I can't reproduce the error and so I'll leave the Zope collector item as rejected. I think you just have something badly hosed on your machine :-( good luck, Chris

Hi all: Can anybody assist me with this, I'm trying to access all the folders within pao > stories. The folders within stories are broken down in to years 1997 - 2002 within these folders are more folders for the 12 months. What I want to do is look in all the year folders then months to see if any documents meet my if statement. Is this possible? Thanks, Todd

_setOb vs. _setObject in BTreeFolder

What is the difference between _setObject and _setOb in a BTreeFolder? I discovered that if I use _setObject the BTreeFolder is not used, but when I use _setOb it used, but the documents don't appear in mybtreefolder/manage_main. BTreeFolder seems to have to storages: the inherited ones from Folder and the BTree storage. This is confusing. I think it would be better if BTreeFolder would delegate all methods to _tree, or rise an exception if you try to write the Folder storage. BTreeFolder doesn't display the addProdukt drop-down box properly, too. I use BTreeFolder version 0.2 from February 2001. Are others having this problems, too?

Tracking down "conflict writes at ..."

I recieve conflict writes: "conflict error at foo (X conflicts since startup)" Is it possible to get the line of the number where the conflict happend? Background: I have a python product with a class that uses a BTreeFolder to store many documents. All files in my simple DMS store the data in this directory. thomas

Dear friends, Greetings! I just downloaded BTree and tried working with it as I was told btree could handle large no. of objects of similar structure with ease. I filled in 15,000 dtml methods and the zope almost stopped responding... May be my test server ( a pc running win 98, my-sql and zope on 64mb ram ) was not good enough. I want to know more about BTree. I searched zope site and got only 6 links to the subject was not good enough to understand BTree. Does anybody have any web links whith provide more info...
