ZClass not displaying in Tree View?

I am experiencing a weird problem. I have a zclass that extends ZObject and ZObject Manager. I have added it to a folder and it will not show up in the left hand folder tree view within the manage interface. I have had the zclass there for months and just noticed that it is not in the folder view. I have other zclasses that extend the same base objects and they work just fine. Folder with one million Documents?

Hi! I am developing a simple DMS. Up to now I use a python product with a BTreeFolder which contains all the documents. Every document gets an ID with DateTime().millis(). There will be up to 50 users working at the same time. And in the end I will have up to 3 million documents. Is there a better class than BTreeFolder for such mass storage? Session product stability

ANN: Zope for Media BoF @ IPC10

ParsedXML expat pyd windows binary available?

I would like to experiment with ParsedXML on a WindowsXP machine running Zope 2.5.0. I can't seem to get the provided expat compiled on windows, and I gather this is a common hurdle to overcome. Does anyone have a procedure to get the windows binary of expat from http://sourceforge.net/projects/expat/ linked as required by ParsedXML? This package would be easier to get started with if it included a download that was ready to roll under windows, since the included expat build setup is somewhat unix-centric, and doesn't look like it would have much chance to work with VC++, the usual compiler available (if any) to a windows Zope user. Zope + XML-RPC + native GUI

Has anyone developed an application using a native GUI Frontend to Zope? I had this idea some time ago and found an interessting example from Amos Latteier. He uses xml-rpc and WxPython. I like it a lot, played with it this weekend. Has someone seen other projects using Zope and a native GUI? thomas

How to prevent Anonymous users to view dir lists within LocalFS while still having them able to download files

I have a LocalFS product containing cc 1000 files in numerous directories and maintain a database with info about those files, including their URL. I provide my own search and listing DTMLs for visitors. When they want to download a given file, they click on a link that increases a download counter then sends the file for the browser. That's fine and that's what I want. I however wouldn't like Anonymous users to be able to view the directory view provided by LocalFS (to say so I would like to keep my directory structure hidden) to avoid direct downloads that I cannot register. Do anybody know a way to hide that directory view from Anonymous users? I've tried to disable the "Access content information" permission, but it seems that it have no effect in either way. When I've revoked the View permission from Anonymous users, I couldn't have Zope push out the files without requiring authentication, however I've set the Proxy Role of the appropriate script Manager, Owner and Authenticated. Any tips on other workarounds? Or should I use *only* an FSCounter or some similar stuff? Your prompt help would be very important for me, dudes. Rock on, e-Musty

Configuring Zope

Hi everybody, I spent a couple of hours trying to get Zope to work with mx.DateTime, but with no success. The error I am getting when loading PSYCOPG now is: AttributeError: 'DateTime' module has no attribute 'mxDateTimeAPI' I wonder if there is a way to configure Zope so that it uses python version that I have installed on my machine and not the one it comes with? The thing is that I can import psycopg module when running my default python, but when I try to run >>> import psycopg using python executable in ZOPE/bin folder, I get ImportError: No module named DateTime Basically I need to figure out how to get Zope to load mx.DateTime package correctly. Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks, Oleg
