Hi, I've got a ZSQL query e.g. sum(quantitya+quantityb) as totalc from.......... The result is stated in the form xx.0, how do I get rid of the .0? Regards, Mehmet

dtml-if question

I am pulling a list of names out of an SQL database to show their name and adress etc. In a specific zope folder are some pictures of SOME names. If there exists a picture for a certain name, it should be displayed. If not, there should be a placeholder. What is the correct syntax of this? ZMySQLDA

Hi; In building MySQL-python (so that I can get ZMySQLDA to work) I read the following: Finally, putting it together: $ python setup.py build # python setup.py install TIP: If you are using a binary package of Zope, you need run setup.py with Zope's python executable. Otherwise, Zope (ZMySQLDA) will not be able to find _mysql. What exactly does that tip say? Can someone write me an example line? What is *Zope's python executable*? TIA, BenO

I know this is easy but still i dont know how to do it! Ok here goes, I want to make a folder public to outsider (only for viewing the objects in it). but Zope asks for name and password. Apache can do a lot of things through loadable "mods" that ZServer cannot. If you are just going to be using a 100% full Zope installation with all of the content stored in Zope you might as well just use ZServer. > B) We are currently using MySQL. Not at all. It is a large amount of files so your Zope Database (see above) will be large. Make sure to put it on a machine with a good amount of RAM (Zope loves Ram). Cheers, BZ

ZServer VS. Apache

I am investigating moving our Public web site and our Intranet to Zope. I have two issues that I would like clarified about Zope. A) On installation, Zope installs Zserver. Is Zserver better than Apache? Does it run better with Zope? Can I do the Virtual Hosting with Zserver? B) We are currently using MySQL. Does Zope plug-in to MySQL by default, or does it use it's on DB? We have 6453 files on our IntrAnet and 3003 files on our Public page. Is this exceeding the boundaries of Zserver's capabilities? Hi; A person named Coventry created a product to replace the <dtml tag with <: and I like that idea. However, I read in an archived post that it wasn't compatible with XML. installation problems on Win2000 with python2.1+

Some time ago (Jun 21 2001, to be exact) Gianluca Pacchioni wrote to the list (I think it was this one) asking about installation problems for perl with zope. I came across the post today while searching the net for help on the exact same problem. I've added my discoveries to andym's great tutorial on setting up zope+pyperl+zoperl on Windows.
