I'm using Zope 2.6.0 and I have a product that creates a PageTemplateFile that is replaceable (by setting pt.__replaceable__ = REPLACEABLE ) I declare this in the method hash of my __init__.py so this PT is available even to constructors. I am having a problem that the object is replaced only in the container the replacement is in, the replacement is not acquired by sub objects. Formulator Problem

Hi; This post was originally sent to the ZPT list, but since no one answered... I have the following code in a ZPT page: <table tal:define="form here/email_us_formulator" align=center> <tr tal:define="yourname request/YourName|nothing"> <th align="left"> <font tal:attributes="size python:here.sizeCalc2(5,here.size())"><font face="verdana"><b> Your Name: </b></font></font> </th> <td><input type="text" name="YourName" tal:replace="structure python:form.YourName.render(yourname)"> </td> </tr> ...etc. This renders like this: <table align="center"> <tr> <th align="left"> <font size="4"><font face="verdana"><b> Your Name: </b></font></font> </th> <td><input size="20" value="" type="text" name="field_YourName" /> </td> </tr> ...etc. When the form is submitted, it goes to a page with the following code: Thank you, <p tal:replace="structure python:here.email_us_formulator.YourName">YourName</p>! and renders like this: Thank you, <StringField instance at 8f2dec8>! What have I done wrong? Furthermore, Formulator no longer validates at all for some reason. Why? TIA, beno

Getting Zope to fetch info via HTTP

Helpppp - Problems with big files

Hi again: In a request I need to response a big file in the body of the response (around 1Gb or 1,5Gb). All I do is: response.setHeader('content-lenght',size) response.setHeader('content-Disposition',loc) f.open('file') data = f.read() response.write(data) sometime later Zope writes a "memory error". I have divided the data in little chunks too and make a lot of response.write calls, but the problem persist... How I can resolve this problem?... is very important... Create Reports as PDF

Hi all! I've just read the "Create a PDF on the fly" How-To, so creating a document (ZPT or DTML) which gets downloaded as PDF shouldn't be a real problem. But there's one question left: I'd like to create a report which exists primarily of tables (about 4 or 5 per document) plus header and footer. Can I avoid that the page break appears in the middle of a table, and how? You know, like the most report generators do if you tell them "don't split this group" or something similar... Thanks! session invalidate - using python

Using this simple script, I expected that a None should be returned (according to http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Books/ZopeBook/2_6Edition/Sessions.stx) data = context.session_data_manager.getSessionData( create=0 ) data.invalidate() return str( data ) # str() just to see None But a result like this is allways returned: id: 10360120480192202025, token: 54001646A0iEAi2X9io, contents: [] with id change at each call (token is the same because the browser is the same). A new session is ceated at each hit (refresh) in the same browser: and the counter in the transient object container is increased accordingly. I did put Data object timeout value in minutes = 1, but after 30 minuts a new hit increase the counter. Does create=0 work properly? Does invalidate() work at all? What am I doing wrong? Error adding an external method

I'm installing the mailin functionality to zwiki. I put mailin.py into externals, when I added external method, it reported a syntax error on line 32. line 32 is: >From types import * I checked and I have types.py? Both in python and under my zope site. I just uninstalled python on the logic that maybe something didn't like both. Clues anyone?

Hi, I'm pleased to announce the preview version of ZShellScripts v0.2 Download ZShellScripts v0.2 from : http://www.librelogiciel.com/software/ZShellScripts-0.2.tar.gz This new release features William Annis' PyLisp interpreter, which allows you to script Zope in Lisp !!! ZShellScripts and the Grand Unification Theory : ------------------------------------------------ Why would Zope only support Python Scripts ? Install ZShellScripts instead. This will allow you to add your own languages interpreters, and even define your own language syntax. Here's how : 1 - Create a Shell instance somewhere. Four types of Shell instances are currently provided : * Shell (Python) -- Can execute standard Zope Python Scripts. Code was unashamedly borrowed from Zope 2.5.1, then was re-ordered and factorized, so please report any problem. * Shell (Unix) -- Can execute Unix commands as the user Zope is run as. Variables like context, container, and so on are available as standard environment variables, but will contain the URL to the object instead of its value. This allows your shell script to talk back to Zope using wget for example ! * Shell (Lisp) -- Can execute Lisp programs inside Zope. **HELP NEEDED** : it basically works but I don't know Lisp to test more. * Shell (Zope) -- Can (*will soon*) execute Zope ZShell commands. This part is currently not working but be sure you'll get it soon !!! Shell (Python) and Shell (Unix) work as expected, as far as I have tested. 2 - Create a "Script (ZShell)" instance, and put the path to your Shell instance on its first line in the usual Unix shell scripts way : #! /path/to/myshell 3 - Put content in your "Script (ZShell)" instance, for example put Python code in it if the shell you use is an instance of "Shell (Python)", or Unix shell commands if it is an instance of "Shell (Unix)", and so on... 4 - Run your "Script (ZShell)" instance as usual, as if it was a standard Zope Python Script for example. Launching your instance, will in fact delegate the code execution to the Shell instance which path you specified on the first line of your "Script (ZShell)" instance. 5 - ??? 6 - Profit ! (ok, this one comes directly from SlashDot) 7 - Use ShellUnix.py, ShellPython.py, ShellLisp.py and ShellZope.py as examples to create your own Shell class. ZShellScripts.py doesn't need to change.
