Hello, I am using KebasData to pull a web page , and I want the entire page displayed. Is there a location/site that has any info on the syntax of the render method? I am trying to pull an entire web page and getting errors, but when I view the raw data inside the zope management page , the raw data looks perfect. Bonjour Fabien, I am completely ignorant about relational databases external to Zope, but I think that if your database entries can be called with a URL, and can be displayed as html or text, pdf etc, then you can store them in DocumentLibrary. I presume you have a reason to want to do this, such as the really cool facilities offered by DocumentLibrary! Perhaps, like me, you want to mix these data files in with other file types, such as pdfs which you need to index. I have stored nodes of an XML Document, by iterating over them and inserting their attributes into the inputs of a customized document_submit method to give the metadata, and appended a simple render method to the absolute_url of each node to provide the URL to for DocumentLibrary to actually fetch. Sounds complicated, but it took five minutes to input 200 files that way. But I was wondering about something: DocumentLibrary is said to be a cross between a BTree Folder and a ZCatalog. Document Files derive from the Metatype 'File'. I am using DocumentLibrary as a search engine, indexing remote pages and returning results pointing to the page on the remote server (the 'source' property). Thus, once the page is indexed I could delete it (as long as there is no need to reindex). But can I delete the original document and keep only the catalogued 'brain'? Anyone? TIA, Ken

Security Question

Hi, I set two folders with acl access. When the authorized user clicks on the link, Username and password appear as I expected. Once the transaction is complete I send an email to a specific user to let them know there has been some activity in their database. The email works on the the no-security folders but now I see this error message. Error Type: Unauthorized Error Value: You are not allowed to access MailHost in this context Any thing I am missing? no start script on netbsd

Hi. I'm running NetBSD 1.6 on a Pentium system. UI installed Zope from netbsd's pkgsrc which is like FreeBSD's ports collection. There is no start script at all. zope-2.2.2 is what I have. As for python it's python20-2.0.1nb2. So I figured out that /usr/pkg/lib/zope/inst/make_start.py should be able to generate a start script. It cannot. If I run python /usr/pkg/lib/zope/inst/make_start.py I get: Error: Zope requires Python thread support! Shoul the sent control's (name=value) be arranged in the order they are received? Or in the tabbing order (if and when specified)? ]] Do not count on any particular order. ACL password encryption

(I have seen a few posts regarding this but with no replies indicating a solution) If I have a user folder with existing users, then later choose to encrypt the passwords and update existing passwords, I can no longer log in as those existing users. If I create a new user _after_ choosing to encrypt passwords, I can log in as that user. The Triangle Zope/Python User Group (TriZPUG) will hold its first meeting this Tuesday, October 8, at 6:15 p.m. near Raleigh/Durham, NC. We will be starting at VERITAS Software, who has kindly permitted us to use their meeting room (directions to VERITAS below). Geoff Davis will give a talk on Zope and Plone, starting promptly at 6:30. After the talk, we will all be going out to a local restaurant (still being selected on the trizpug mailing list). Session Timeouts

I'm forever forgetting to reset session timeouts when I restart Zope. First, is there a way to change the default without brain surgery? The 20 minute default value that's used is deep within the __init__ for Transience objects. Is there a way to reset the timeout without reinitializing and killing all active transient objects? I looked at the code and it does not seem possible. Unfortunate, in a way, since resetting the timeout value kills all existing session sub-objects.
