Upgrade from 2.3.2 to 2.5.0

We just got a new server and installed Zope2.5.0 on it and it seems to work fine (after realizing that it doesn't play well with python 2.2). However we have had a few problems/issues with export of our site over from the old server which is running Zope 2.3.2. Specifically we are getting problems with python scripts that end in an else: clause. For example a script from the export that looks like this: if context.noRequestID(): context.getRecentRequestID() else: context.getSelectedRequestID() gives this error: Script line 4 context.getSelectedRequestID() ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax If I save the script then everything works fine, but I don't really feel like going through all of the imported python scripts and saving them just to make sure they work. I have looked around on the list and on the various zope sites but haven't found any reference to any problem like this. So I guess my questions are: Has anyone seen this problem before, if so what did you do about it? Also is there a How-To available that describes migrating to a newer version of zope? I have seen this one: http://www.zope.org/Members/mcdonc/HowTos/zopeinstall/ZOPE-INSTALL-HOWTO but it seems a little dated now (no offense to the author). Thanks for any help. Product - default Folders/Documents...

Hi all! I want to copy some default folders and documents (as well as other objects) into the created product (I want to use the ieeditor from http://vsbabu.org/webdev/zopedev/ieeditor.html and copy the files programmatically) When I have a folder containing some other folders/documents/objects in the product folder in the control panel (puhh) I want to copy this folder object to the product instance at creation time (in the product add method). How can I implement this with dtml (preferred) or python scripts? Thanks for your time, Juergen

Anyone gotten XSLTemplate to work?

Spent the entire afternoon trying various combinations of PyXml 7, (and current CVS), and 4Suite (and current CVS).. RH Linux 7. Seems these two are out of sync.. I just want to get XSLT to work from Zope no matter what. Anyone have suggestions? I could use an external method if I need to.. Just need to find a working XSLT processor callable from Python. ExUserFolder

Hi, I use the ExUserFolder and I want that new Users can register themselves. How can I realize this? At the moment I can create new users only as Admin in the manage-screen. Regards Steven

I figured it out. For some reason, when you create a folder in 2.5.0, and you do "Create public interface", it was doing a Page Template instead of a dtml document. That's why my index_html wasn't interpreting dtml. I haven't messed with the page templates yet, so I was probably just not supposed to put dtml in it or something. Is it supposed to do page templates for the auto-generated public interfaces (index_html's)? using a Java servlet from Zope

OK, if I do a "View/Page Source" in netscape on that index_html page, I see the dtml code...the server is not parsing it out. What might cause that? Why would this be something new in 2.5.0? Installing PyXML in Windows Zope 2.5.0?

I would like to know more about installing C extension-using modules such as PyXML into Zope's Python Layout. I installed the "PyXML 0.7 (For Python 2.2)" windows binary distribution into my separate Python 2.2 installation, and it used C:\progra~1\Python\Lib\site-packages\ to do its intermediate build operations. That path was found from a known registry key by the installer, but I had the opportunity to choose something else. The built modules were installed under Python\Lib\xml\, as expected. If I were to use "PyXML 0.7 (For Python 2.1)" and install it into my Zope installation on the same machine, would I select a path of C:\progra~1\Zope\bin\lib\site-packages\, where I create \site-packages manually before the install? Thanks.
