Hi Oleg Thanx for the information. Your system doesn't seems quite Solaris-normal. Have you tried any of the problems from the "threading and performance" thread? I'll give you the code: <dtml-var standard_html_header> <dtml-var ZopeTime> <dtml-in "_.range(80)"><dtml-in "_.range(499)">X</dtml-in> </dtml-in> <dtml-var ZopeTime> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> But beware that can take a while and should plugup your Solaris!!!! So don't try it on a production machiene!!! While this code gets executed try getting a response from your management interface (or anything else on the site). The usual Solaris response is, that the second request will wait till the first is finished before getting executed (although processor usage is at about 30%). Do you use Apache as frontend? I noticed that you are using Debian with Zope in the mailing list. What Zope you are using ? 2.5.0 source or binary? Because I have difficulty to run w_pcgi.py after I unpack the source tarball? Zope file system and scalability

Dear friends, Greetings! I am trying to build a huge extranet using zope where there will be large amount of messageing and file shareing. How scalable is Zope object file system. I was told zope has to keep complete zope data.fs in memory so as to work. Is this true. Are there any further reference articles on this. As part of the project i need to enable users to upload the work files such as StarOffice clac files, word documents and pdf. If they use to file object in zope then the file gets embedded to zope data.fs making it enormously huge. Is this preferable. or should i try loacl fs. Any help in this will be of immence value. dynamically using inheritance

I'm working ona little skinning implementation where I want to pull a folder name out of a database, then navigate to it to get dtml methods. Hardcoding it is easy, but how exactly would I insert a variable into this simple dtml-with? <dtml-with skins.default> <dtml-var standard_skin_appearance> </dtml-with> to get an idea of how the site is layed out, here's where the skins and inside data would live: www.mysite.com:8080/skins/default/standard_skin_appearance I tried variations on: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('skinname', 'skins.default')"> <dtml-with "_.string(skinname)"> with no luck Any suggestions on the proper syntax to do this? authenticating over XML-RPC to implement the Blogger API

Hello Everyone, I've got a problem and was wondering if anyone on this list my have some insight as to howto solve it. I want to implement a the Blogger XML-RPC API to allow users to add content toa Zope site (the API is here http://plant.blogger.com/api/index.html) It requires that theusername and password be sent as parameters in each function call. is it possible to hookinto Zopes authentication scheme via a external method or python script? I've also noticedthat it could be possible to grab the username and password from the XML-RPC call whenZPublisher calls request.processInputs(), but I don't know how Zope authenticates the userthis may be to late in the process to try and fudge with the request object. Has anyone elsedone user authentication via parameters? Any help would be appreciated -- Nathan Sain
