How to multiply an integer in DTML??

Hi, what I try to do is a short multiplication. For example just multiply a variable with 5. I tried this, but doesn't work: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('var', _.int(var)*5)"> Can someone help me? It is just that short multiplication, so I think it is not neccessary to build a python script. Thanks a lot Marc

URL encoding in a python script?

Is there an equivalent to urllib.urlencode for Python scripts? I tried to import urllib and then use the above, but no luck. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks Etienne

Hi Jurgen and Bruce, Well...I have not solutions, I have only read the changes.txt of 2.5.0: "- WebDAV: The long outstanding read-only problem with WinWord and .html is finally solved. Zope sends now an additional ETag header for DTMLMethods and DTMLDocuments. Many thanks to Joachim Schmitz for this hint." I also have similiar problems with Zope 2.5.0 on WIN NT SP6 and 2K pro (more with office 2k than office Xp):(, but Andreas Jung wrote he could not reproduce my problems, so I think generally there aren't problems with 2.5.0. This his Andreas Jung's answer: "This is somewhat strange because I can not reproduce the problem with Office 2K (Win XP) and the latest Zope 2.5 version. I am pretty sure that this behaviour is again caused by the weird WebDAV implementation of M$. Currently I have no further idea what causes that problem." Ciao, Michele P.S. Hi Bruce, Are you using Zope >= 2.5.0? User groups and CMF

Hi, I am currently using zope along with CMF and plone. I was wondering if its possible in this environment to create users based some predefined groups. Users from one group should not be allowed to see items published from other groups. Thanks in anticipation kamal deep singh

Chris, What with all the activity on the list in the last week about the quality of documentation, I'd thought I'd better try to deliver on my promise to send you feedback. I'd hoped to send you something more polished, but best not to let the best be the enemy of the good I always think. Anyway, the following comments relate to my experience of installing Zope using your fine document: http://www.zope.org/Members/mcdonc/HowTos/zopeinstall/ZOPE-INSTALL-HOWTO 1) A bit out of date: refers to "the as yet mythical 2.2.5" for example (we are now 2.5.0, no?) 2) A couple of minor typo-like errors All this futzing with security is important because we're going to start Zope as the root user. When Zope is started as root, it executes programs kept in the Zope directory as the root user before it switches user context to the nobody user. If these program files are modifiable by arbitrary users, ***you [could] [be] [are] compromising the security of your system.*** We've limited our risk by allowing only three trusted users to access the Zope holding directory and anything kept within it. Giving arbitrary write access to the holding directory or the Zope directory and files within is a Bad Idea. ***pick one ===== ===== There, I did it. I've got a holding directory named "/usr/local/zope" that's owned by the "nobody" user. It's also group-owned by the "mcdonc" group, whose only member is my user account "mcdonc". 3) Educational suggestions Could add: If you don't already have such a group on your system, you need to set one up as follows dougie@carnall:/usr/local/zope$ su Password: dougie@carnall:/usr/local/zope# root@carnall:/usr/local/zope# usermod -G users,dougie dougie This adds the user dougie to two groups, users and dougie. ***** ***** Further reading/additional knowledge. Understanding unix permissions is vital to successfully installing zope. WebDav and Office 2000

I'm having trouble getting Office applications to work with the webDAV interface to Zope. I have Zope (running on Debian Woody) serving rendered pages on 9673 and source on 9674. I can save Word documents to folders on Zope (usually) but if I try to open them again I get a read-only document containing the single line "downloading from http://zope.etc.etc". This happens regardless of whether I point the web folder at port 9673 or 9674. Any clue to what I am doing wrong? I don't have any problems accessing source and rendered documents using cadaver, so is this a simple Word/Office/Win2k incompatibility? -- Bruce

How to set an 'index' in batch display?

Hello I got a problem where i think i have tried every batch-sequence variable, but can't get this to work. I have a database with two tables. Table1 contains searchterms and image names (only for images that are linked to a searchterm). Table2 contains the names of _all_ images (many images are not referenced to by a search term), their date and pagenumber. (The images are scans from historical publications). In a search screen i can search for terms, which yields a result screen. The results link to a display screen, with the image name as parameter (in the dtml-var 'im'). The display method uses a ZSQL Query with the following: params: im="" date="" select imagename, directory, date, page from table2 where imagename like <dtml-sqlvar im type=string> <dtml-if date> OR date = { ts '<dtml-var "_.DateTime(date)" fmt=ISO>'} </dtml-if> order by date, page I can use the following listing, using batches of 1, which gives me all images for the appropriate day, starting with the first image of that day. <dtml-in expr="Query(im=im)"> <dtml-in expr="Query(date=(_.str(date)))" size=1 start=qs> <dtml-in expr="Query(date=(_.str(date)))" next size=1 start=qs> <a href="<dtml-var URL><dtml-var sequence-query >qs=<dtml-var next-sequence-start-number>"> Next image<br> </a> </dtml-in> <img src="<dtml-var imagename>.gif"> </dtml-in> </dtml-in> The 'Next' section gives me the opportunity to page through the pages of the day (a Previous section is also planned). However, I want to start viewing at the exact image that was referenced to from the search screen. So what i want to do, is to set some sort of index and start viewing from there with the possibility to page to other pages for that day. In other words: The query already detects that image n6c117 is from date 02/02/1796. <dtml-var count-date> even gives the correct number of images for that day, let's say the count for date 02/02/1796 is 11 images: n6c111 through n6c121. Basically i have two questions, i think: How can i calculate the 'index' number of image n6c117 (that is: 7 from 11) How can i set that index in the lines <dtml-in expr="Query(date=(_.str(date)))" size=1 start=qs> <dtml-in expr="Query(date=(_.str(date)))" next size=1 start=qs> Things like 'start=im' etc don't seem to work here. NB: A further complication (syntaxwise) is the fact that in Table1 image names are spelled in uppercast, eg: N6C111, in table2 in undercast, as n6c111, so sometimes you might have to use constructs like (_.string.lower(imagename)). The date=(_.str(date))) construction is for similar reasons. Thanks and cheers
