.htaccess like password in Zope?

Hi all, I'm relatively new to Zope, so I hope this is not a FAQ. Is it possible to make some folders password protected like in Apaches .htaccess way? I do not want to let users *manage* content (as in a user folder), just to let them access the content as usual... Virtual Hosts with apache rewriterule module and siteroot

Hi, Since a long time i try to install apache with 2 independant zope servers on the same machine (solaris 5.7) by using virtual hosting ans siteroot zope object, i scan hows-to and mail archives but i can't solve my pb : i want to have two zope servers on my sun: http://www.mysite.fr:9080 and http://www.another.org:6080 (virtual) in the second i create a folder "another" which contain a siteroot object : /another/siteroot base = http://www.another.org path = /another I want to use apache with *rewriterule module*, so i add some directives in my httpd.conf (see bottom) When i restart Apache and i try it (with netscape), to the request : http://www.mysite.fr i see the right web page http://www.another.org i see the apache server response : Proxy Error The proxy server could not handle the request GET/ Reason : Host not found When i try with the www.another.org zope server down, (i.e. like a classic directory) it's right: i see the welcome pages. I think that the matter come from my siteroot object please, have you any idea, experience ? Have moved one of my sites over from Zope 2.1.6 to 2.4.3. Everything imported OK but viewing the site causes an error. What does the following mean ? using content_html to auto call content_html of a particular folder

Hello Steve, I want visitors my site to see the content_html inside news folder as they typed my url into the address of their browsers, at the same time i did not want to include the name of the folder (news) in that my url. Creating instances of products - finding id for them - example

Here is a small example how I create in one PythonScript new instances of products - and manage to get new ids for them. Ideas I got from discussions on zope-mailing list. Comments appreciated # # idtsrat = id which we are trying to crete, this is the base for new id # First we check wether the id exists, if it exists # If it exists we start to add a counting number after it and checking # wether that exists if hasattr(context, idstart): while hasattr(context, (idstart + str (start +1 ))): start = start + 1 id = idstart + str(start +1) else: id = idstart # # And then we try to create the instance. If it fails - for example # another thread created instance with same id. Add one to the id and # try again while 1: try: ****Create the instance here with id****; break; except: start= start + 1 id = idstart + str(start +1)

CMF: Phantom news item

This is a page in a CMF site: http://www.aim23.com/aim.cms/brightonunderground/bu/recent_news aim.cms is the pcgi script brightonunderground is a folder bu is a CMF portal If you look at the last two news items on the page, one is linking to: http://www.aim23.com/aim.cms/brightonunderground/bu/newWebSite and the other to: http://www.aim23.com/aim.cms/bu/newWebSite Note that the second link is actually an object outside the CMF which doesn't even exist, so why is it appearing in the news list? I cannot find the phantom item anywhere so I cannot delete it. The CMF portal "bu" was originally in the Zope root, but I made a copy of it in the brightonunderground folder. I have since deleted the original, but somehow this news item has been left behind. Does anyone know how I can delete it? Dear Dieter, I do apologise to you and anyone else who was upset by my e-mail. I've just had to change my e-mail client and didn't notice that the default setting was 'rich text' rather then 'plain text'. I've changed it now, so hopefully I will not cause more nuisance. Second: I didn't attach a stupid multi-kb image (I've just pasted the error text I get in Zope), but I'm sorry that it was rendered this way by your mail client. It is certainly not what I intended. I was just keen to supply as much information as possible to make it easier for anyone to spot the error and help me to sort it out and thought that providing the error message would be helpful. creating product instances using dtml

Howdy All, I've been trying to figure out how to make instances of a product without using the management interface. For example, lets say my product is called MyProduct and I've defined manage_addMyProduct in the .py file. I can create the object by spoofing urls, but I'd like to be able to create the object using dtml. I've tried: <dtml-call expr="someFolder.manage_addMyProduct('someId')"> but the manage_addMyProduct method can't be found. Does anyone know how this is done? Thanks, Micah

Where can i find som examples / docs on how to "convert" a basic http-auth site to cookiebased? Cookiecrumbler doesnt come with a lot of docs :-/ (Or am i just missing something vital?)
