Hi there! I'm trying to copy a folder to another folder using a DTML-Method. The Problem is that this Method has to be run by Anonymous so I thought I might give it "Manager" as a proxy-role. But this does not work. Every time I call <dtml-call "manage_pasteObjects(manage_copyObjects(ids=['defaultFolder']))"> I get a security exception! What the ?(&" am I doing wrong?

Including DTML in an HREF Link?

What, if any, syntax permits me to put a dtml-call construct inside a hyperlink on a Web page? Right now, it seems to me that to execute a dtml-call, I have to create a DTML document which makes that call and then invoke the DTML document in the usual way in the link tag. This results in a bit of extra effort and extra files but I don't mind doing this if that's the most effective or efficient way. Conceptually, what I want (with the initial angle bracket removed to avoid formatting issues) is: a href="<dtml-call someDTMLMethodName>">link text </a> Now, I know that particular syntax won't work, but it shows what I believe I want. Or am I doing it the "best practices way"?

Security in ZClass

Hi I am developing a small product using ZClasses that creates a self contained application (i.e. not reliant on ZMI) with the following structure: /--StudyBase | --- acl_users | --- study1 | --- study2 | etc Users are to be managed in the one top level acl_users folder (where they will be given a role of 'researcher') and then assigned local roles (administrator, investigator, coordinator) in each study folder. A user may be a coordinator in one study and investigator in one or more other studies. Anonymous access is allowed to the site, including limited read access to documents in study folders. The top-level ZClass ('StudyBase') in the product is the only one visible in the 'Select type to add...' list in the root (i.e. all other ZClasses are nested in the StudyBase class). A python script called when a StudyBase is instantiated adds an acl_user folder, ZCatalog and certain other standard folders. I have two questions: Firstly, I have a login dtml method defined in the ZClass. I want this to be constrained to authenticated users only, so that a login dialog is presented when the anonymous user clicks the login link on the front screen. I can see no facility in the ZClass ZMI to define security of DTMLMethods. However, if I copy the method to a normal folder I can change the security, and these settings are preserved if I then copy the method back into the Product's folder! The second related question is how to specify user roles within the ZClass. How can I define the user roles in my product (and then add them programmatically when StudyBase is instantiated) when there is no security tab in the Product ZMI through which to define the product's roles? Surely there should be a security tab in the Product ZMI or am I missing something? Am I at the limit of ZClasses? If so, how can this be achieved through a python product? Thanks for any pointers! Object acquisition question

Hi: When I started playing with zope, I put a bunch of ZSQL objects in the dev area(/dev), and along with them there was some DTML docs that use these objects. However, I have now put all the object in one folder (say SqlObjects, still inside the dev area), but my DTML docs crash because they can't see the ZSQL objects. I know that I have to somehow tell my DTML documents of the location change, but can't figure out the right way, I tried (among many other things): <dtml-in context.dev.SqlObjects.myZSQLObject> do stuff </dtml-in> dtml document name: myDTMLdoc.html and many other combinations with no luck. Could anyboy outhere be so kind to share the right way to do it. I looked at the doc, and tried to follow the hippo example, but didn't get it to work in my case. Thanks! Jorge M. -- Jorge O. sort problem

I have an object "Internet_Ticket" and every Instance from the object has a id. <dtml-in "object.Values(['Internet_Ticket']) " sort=id> but if i show the objects there is a strange sequence. 1 10 100 101 102 103 .... 109 11 110 ..... It seems its a binary sequence. Why is it and how can i change it ? 1 2 3 4 5 .... 10 11 12 .... Thanks in advance for any advice. student folders

I'm a school teacher and want to set up a folder structure of users in Zope consisting of school class names, such as 12ITSAS, and then individual folders at the next level down for each individual student, Student1, Student2, Student3 etc. I'm inexperienced with Zope but do have some background in programming. I would like the students to have read only and copy rights at the 12ITSAS level folder and manager rights in their individual, Student1, Student2 folders. In that way I can provide them with resources within the 12ITSAS folder that they can't change at that level but which they can copy and change at the level of their folders. I can't see how to do that efficiently using the Zope security model. When I provide students with Manager rights at the level of their individual folders (Student1, Student2 etc) then they can't access the 12ITSAS folder because that is at a higher level. And of course if I give them Manager rights at the 12ITSAS folder level then they can modify what I supply them and invade each others folders. Xron bug?

Hello, I use Xron-0-0-10.tgz on Zope 2.5.0 Linux and I have created a Xron DTML Method that only works when I click the View tab. Problem in the code, XUFTOOLS

I made just a quick hack to the code. In setMemberProperties I changes the saved value to be a string. I am not sure if this will cause any problems, but I doubt it. I also noticed a funny thing in your code compared to the MemberData code. XUFTools puts the full mapping into the properties, while MemberDataTool only puts those properties that are really defined in the tool. In the concrete use this means that with XUFTool now even information about the request gets stored in the member properties. -huima def setMemberProperties(self, mapping): '''Sets the properties of the member.
