Hi Jeff, hi list members that keep struggling with ZopeEdit mime type in Win2k/XP, I made 3 entries in the registry (don't know if all 3 are necessary), here are the exported files. Copy the text into *.reg files and import them in regedit.exe. Hi, In my first dtml doc I have seven select statements to help the user generate a part number. So I stop getting the global undefined error message, I added the input statement for the part_num variable. I set the variable to "zz" so I can see it as a <dtml-var part_num> output on the next dtml doc gen_part_num. WARNING: ExternalEditor !!!

Using Zope 2.5/Debian Placed uncompressed ExternalEditor (ExternalEditor-0.3.tgz) in Products dir. Restarted the ZServer and lost the presentation layer in ZMI of my root site. Removed ExternalEditor and could not start ZServer. Had to bring back my entire ZOPE_HOME dir from tape. Be warned to try on test site before Production implementation. Can't give specifics since I had not time to disect issue.

recompile python?

Hi all, I've started getting these error messages appear on a Zope site I've written... 2002-06-19T12:26:03 PROBLEM(100) Script (Python) Object "CountNoCats" needs to be recompiled. I had a Zope 2.4.3 Server running with files I had created on a Zope 2.5.0 Server - was working fine for a while! but then this started happening, and Zope started crashing all the time. So I've built a new Zope 2.5.0 (running on a RaQ4), copied all the files over, and whilst the whole things seems a lot more stable (one only crash so far in 24 hours!!) these errors are still appearing... Does anybody know how I can recompile my Python scripts? Is this a multi-user thing? It seems to happen when lots of people are simaltaneously accessing the site... Many thanks for any help received! Wake up Zope faster on Windows

I use Zope on Windows a lot and when I activly work with it it works fast and nice. If I leave the computer or just don't use the Zope server for a longer while it takes exceptionally long time to get Zope waking up again. I don't want it to fall asleep. I want it to be on alert always. This is most probably a hardware/windows issue, but I was just wondering if anybody out there has experienced any solutions to this fall-asleep-problem on Windows. temporary file storage?

Hi, where does Zope store files while they are uploaded? It looks like /tmp is the default, and now I cannot upload a rather large file because there's only so much space free in that file system. Inituser Problem with Zope on Suse 8.0

Hi, I newly installed Suse Linux 8.0 and Zope 2.5.0 that comes with it. Because I installed Zope with Yast, I didn't see the original inituser and password. And the zpasswd.py script seems to have no effect. I 1. ran python /opt/zope/utilities/zpasswd.py /opt/zope/utilities/access 2. answered the prompts for user and passwd with "abc" (without quotes) 3. chose SHA for encryption 4. didn't specify a domain 5. rebooted the machine 6. started Zope 7. tried to log in as user "abc" with password "abc" and got an "Unauthorized"-error I heard of lots of people having the same problem. I would very much appreciate help.
