thanx Josh this method seems to be simple and straightforward ... BTW is 'HTTP_REFERER' is HTTP-header and is it as per HTTP 1.1 w3c guidelines( ie. part of protocol) or is it a Zope/medusa specification? . Znolk SQL Wizard and CVS

I'm Debian/ZOPE 2.5 w/ Znolk SQL Wizard 0.1.9 Works great :) My question is... I get a: WARNING: Python C API version mismatch for module csv: This Python has API version 1010, module csv has version 1009. on ZServer startup I don't use CVS. Can I eliminate certain files to remove the "WARNING"? Thanks Eric Dunn

Zope, Apache & SSL

Hi, I'm running Zope 2.5.0 on Suse 8.0 and I'm trying to access it via Apache because I want to have SSL. I followed the instructions given in http://zope1.devshed.com/zope.devshed.com/Server_Side/Zope/ZopeWithApache and they simply told me to 3 things: 1. copy the Zope.cgi file to my apache cgi-bin directory, that is: cp /opt/zope/Zope.cgi /usr/local/httpd/cgi-bin 2. set permmisions, that is: chmod 711 /usr/local/httpd/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi 3. start Zope with the -p option, that is cd /opt/zope /usr/bin/python z2.py -p /usr/local/httpd/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi Now I "should be able to access the Zope pages through CGI, by browsing to the URL http://your.server/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi" But I get error 500 (Internal Server Error). I know lots of you have successfully accessed Zope via Apache. How??? TextIndexNG is a pluggable index for the ZCatalog that enhances the fulltext indexing capabilities of Zope by providing the following features: * support for document converters (HTML, PDF, WinWord, PowerPoint, Postscript). Suggested number of threads for running Zope under W2K

How to store variables in one session

Hello, I want to write an application which builds a SQL query after answering a set of questions which were presented on several HTML pages in some forms. At first I've thought that I could store the answers in the REQUEST object but I found out that this object does not store values of variables over several requests. Thus I need a way to store some variables over a certain number of user interactions. In the Zope Developers Guide I found something about "ZODB Persistent Components" (Chapter 4) but first I do not understand how to do this with dtml and second I'm really unsure whether this is the right method for my application. I would like to know what is the best way to store some values temporarily in one user session. Kind regards Andreas.

Antonio -- What's your table declaration look like? MySQL has a number of different string formats, all with somewhat different limits. VARCHAR, for example, allows for data with a predeclared maximum length of between 1 and 255 characters. Then there are TINYTEXT, TEXT/LONG VARCHAR, MEDIUMTEXT, LONGTEXT, etc all with different size limits. Check the MySQL documentation for the various formats supported. -dra

Hmm. This works: - Create zopeedit.bat file containing: START C:\python22\pythonw.exe "C:\Program Files\ZopeEdit\zopeedit.py" %1 - Edit the zopeedit.py script to explicitly specify the location of ZopeEdit.ini - In ZopeEdit.ini put editor = C:\cygwin\bin\bash --login -c 'xemacs \'%1\'' - Point the application/x-zope-edit helper to the zopeedit.bat file. This variant, however, has the disadvantage of leaving a full size command window (created by bash.exe) up during the editing. Also, I haven't been to skip the batch file by Mozilla the pythonw call directly. I'm not sure why, but it just fails to work for me.
