Cataloging objects with a property set

Hi all, this is just a small tip - that you all propably know, but which hasn't been mentioned that often. How do you use ZCatalog to catalog for example all your page template-files, but leave those files out that are not intended for the public to see - for example the master templates that only control the layout. Answer is to use ZCatalogs expression field and properties of objects. For example I put to my those PageTemplates that I don't want to see in the search a new property called search and 0 as a value. And to expression field while searching new objects I put: getProperty('search', d=1) This way the ZCatalog will catalog all the PageTemplates that fit with the other requirements of the query and do not have search-property set to 0. The secon parameter - like said in the API - says that if search-property is not set, then this value will be given. Hope this helps others! -huima

Problem with Cookieless Sessions on Mozilla and Netscape

I can't get cookie-less session in Mozilla. They work fine in IE. This is the python script I am using to run the test: ## Script (Python) "testSession" ##bind container=container ##bind context=context ##bind namespace= ##bind subpath=traverse_subpath ##parameters= ##title= ## session = context.REQUEST.SESSION if session.has_key('mb'): return 'second time' else: session['mb'] = 1 return 'first time' I am running the 2.5.1 binary on Windows XP. Both Mozilla (Build ID: 2002053012) and Netscape 4.51 show 'first time', no matter how many times I refresh. Any ideas? Thanks. Mark

I have a site which uses server date to iterate over the folders and display the teasers / links which matches with the server date. ZTUtils --other options

Hi , I was using ZTUtils because it is being used when we create a page template with Z Search Interface the template gets the values using the very same code. I know only this one method to get the values of a record set and display it. Could you please tell me what other methods are available to get the recordset and display the values. If i have a zsql method or a returned variable from a python script and i want to dispaly the values of the recordset what other means can i use? Desperate for some help with <dtml-tree> tag

Hi, I have a LocalFS product on my web site, and I want ppl to be able to see the file hierarchy as a tree structure (one provided by <dtml-tree>) however when I use the dtml-tree tag in the following fashion (which I got after a lot of trial and error when things didnt work: refer to previous post about a week(could be slighltly older) back re:LocalFS and <dtml-tree>): <dtml-tree name=tree_root branches_expr="fileValues()" id="fileIds"> <dtml-var getId> </dtml-tree> where tree_root is the name of the folder (in LocalFS... e.g. 'local_fs_instance['folder_name']) I want. This produces some really wierd behavior like single clicks not expanding the nodes. When and if I do expand the nodes it contians the entire current structure which again expands and collapses erratically and so on and so forth. If anybody has ever used the tree tag with LocalFS I will be really really really grateful for any pointers as to what I am doing wrong? or what I should be doing?? or what I shoudl not be doing?? My understanding of the LocalFS (after perusing the source) is that since it provides the tpvalues and tpids interfaces, I should not have to do anything fancy if all I want is a list of folders and subfolders (at the very least), so what am I missing here?? exec?? issue

Hi all, I've got a problem evaluating a variable which I don't know how to go about solving... Consider the following code: Counter=0 for GetDoc in context.DisplayCustomerSQL(SelectCID=TestCID): print "Customer name is %s %s" % (GetDoc.FirstName, GetDoc.LastName) for FieldCount in FieldName: ExecField = "GetDoc."+FieldName[Counter] print "value of field %s is %s" % (FieldCount, ExecField) Counter=Counter+1 (yes I realise there are probably tidier ways to do this - especially the counter bit! - but hey I am learning!! albeit bad habits.... :) Prior to this the python script scans a database record, and stores a string of field names (represented with the record as [Field1], [Field2], etc). So, by the time the script above gets to the second-from-last line, the var ExecField contains something like GetDoc.Field1 or GetDoc.Field2. As you've probably guessed by now, I want to display the literal value of ExecField, instead than the word "ExecField" at this stage.... I'm not python programmer, but having scanned my copy of "learing Python" thoroughly, I reckon I'd use the "exec" command to do this. Except I'm not in Python, I'm in Zope. And using 'exec ExecField' doesn't work. Nor does "_.exec" which has helped me before in these cases!! I seem to remember reading somewhere that exec and eval were considered too powerful and had been removed in Zope's python - now it seems that is definately the case!! So, does anybody have any idea how I might solve my dilemma...?? (which, by the way, I've arrived at by giving up on trying to Mail Merge Zope with Word, and instead I'm now trying to build the entire docs to be Mail Merged in Zope!!!) many thanks for any help! ZPT Newbie Question

Hello all, I'm starting to learn ZPT in Zope and I have a question. Can I make ZPT includes in my templates, like I can include dtml . I want to use some template code in all the rest of the templates in my application, is there a way to include this or I need to copy the code in every document? Also like in php when you include a php document to use it in several php documents. thanks in advance Gerardo Amaya
