Hi All, I'm trying to have a section of an HTML page rotate randomly. I am using this dtml; <dtml-var expr="_.whrandom.choice(blah.objectValues())"> this works fine for text but what do I do if I want to include html in this? at the moment it doesn't render it. Thanks - Dan Jacobs

Hi Christopher, There is a DB2 database adapter for zope at http://www.bluedynamics.org/products/ZDB2DA I've never used it, but the people at bluedynamics are experienced Zope people. Bob Corriher P-Wave inc.

The ZDiscussions product (one of them nasty Z Classes) shoulda been mentioned. But even when you do, it fails because the constructor doesn't get found.

Dieter Mauer pointed out that the dispatcher was keyed with "ZDiscssions" and that appears to work--at least it returns a dispatcher object. So, to construct a ZDiscussions object in container, I would have thought I should write container.manage_addProduct['ZDiscussions'].manage_addZDTopic( id, title=... ) and so forth. manage_addZDTopic is defined in ZDBase, the base class for the ZDiscussions ZClass (which creates ZDTopic and ZDItems...). There's a bit more to making it work, but the first step is to get a program creating an instance...

Verions & TinyTablePlus bug?

Hi, While working with a TinyTablePlus object the table get locked because Zope seems to think someone modified it while working in Version (called workInProgress). However I am the only one working on this machine and I am definataly not working in a Version (I actually deleted workInProgress object some time ago). I use Zope 2.5.1 . Anyone encountered a similar problem sometime? thanks, Eric

Uploading files into Zope via Web

I have a project I'm working on where people with the proper authorization will be permitted to upload files (Zip files or possibly folders) into a holding place on my Zope server. The thing is this needs to be done via the web, not FTP or by logging directly into the content management interface. After searching zope.org the only thing I came up with that was even close was the ZImporter, which is just for importing the .zexp or .xml files back into Zope. I could use a database, but it seems like such overkill to have one running (And to have to maintain it) for someone to upload a file every once in awhile and the file wouldn't even end up staying in the database. Ultimately the goal is to have a web interface that only certain people can access and someone will just place their file in the upload area and then never see where it goes or have to worry anything at all about learning Zope or having FTP. Is this doable easily and I'm just missing something? Or maybe a Product that I haven't found does this...I'm mainly fishing for people's opinions on what would be the easiest and least painful solution to this. Newbie-Problem with ZTUtils

Hi , With ZTUtils i am having a problem .Could someone who is working on this area please help me out. batch python:modules['ZTUtils'].Batch(results, size=12, start=start) If the result set is equal to12 then I get the resultset IF the result set is lesser than 12 then i am getting a message container.REQUEST.form['n'] WHat does this mean?I figure that i have to give SIZE=(exact number of records) But how can i get it?IS there some function for this? Sure Chris... The product is a mixed DTML/Python thing with base classes in Python. The usual instantation is via the ZMI where you create a instance of the Zclass, then on a separate tab, copy in the code which does the high level interface. I want to create instances programmatically--that is, I have a form which allows my users to create a discussion thread. I'd thought that I could simply simulate the ZMI mechanisms in Python or DTML, This fails both when accessed expicitly and when accessed using the through-the-web interface. I suspect protections but have not found the right ones to toggle. Non of the literature I have at hand talks much about instantiating ZClasses from programs... Had I a bit more time, I'd redo the whole system as a Python Product but there's no time for such. Any help you can give would be appreciated.
