Hi Jim & the rest of the bunch, I'm using Zope to create a website to raise funds for a hospital in Ghana. Some of the reasons to choose for Zope were: 1st - It is capable of doing everything we want, for example: * I want the website to be multi-lingual, in order to reach as many people as possible. * We want to have online donations. * We want people who donated to be able to see what will be done with their money. (online of course, but maybe also as a mailinglist) * We would like that 'normal' teammembers (sounds different than I meant ;-) ) to be able to update the content of the pages without being a 'internet goeroe'. 2nd - It's open source, so therefore it's: * well supported (advantage for me ;-) ) AND * of course, it's for free! (advantage for the foundation: we have better plans to use the money for) By the way: * The foundation is called: St. John Hospital. * The hospital is called: St. John of God Hopital. * The hospital is situated in: Duayaw Nkwanta (Ghana). * Current situation? See: http://www.zwo.nhl.nl/hbov/buitenlandstage/ghana.html. It's not my site, but it's nice to get a clue about some of the needs. (Some is in Dutch, but most of it is in English). * Current project? I want to let a user confirm the submit button, before it is really submitted. What is the suggested way to let a dtml form be confirmed before submit? Something like "file will be changed, are you sure? (Y/N)" Stephan

OK. It was suggested, that I need to use JavaScript to confirm the deletion of an object. Can I execute some dtml tags inside of a JavaScript? What I have is this: <script language="JavaScript">  </script> <input type="submit" name="delete" onclick="confirm_entry()" value=" Delete Document " /> <input type="submit" name="cancel" onclick="this.form.reset()" value=" Cancel " /> of course, it doesn't work at all... Zope usage on internet

Hi: I like Zope, and although still low in the Zope Zen, I want to learn more and use it at work on production projects. However, a question recently raised by my boss regarding Zope left me with no definite answer, and I wonder if someone out there can provide a hint: What is Zope's market share of web server on the internet? He said he looked at Netcraft, and could see PHP, ASP, CMF, Frontpage, etc., but not Zope. I know Zope usually runs behind Apache (or other servers) so it would pass undetected, but still I wonder if there's a way to determine the share of web servers running Zope... Any thougths? exUserFolder, NUXUserGroups, LDAP!

Hello all, The NUXUserGroups is a great product that allows the grouping of users. LDAPUser is great product that connects Zope and LDAP. I would like to combine the usefulness of these two products. There is one drawback in that the LDAP server I'll be using is read only. I thought that exUserFolder could act as a broker between the products, and maybe it can, just that I haven't figured it out. Is it possible for exUserFolder to receive a login request (either from basic authentication or cookie based authentication) and pass the username and password to LDAP for authentication. Then, when the authentication is successful, return a User object that can be used with NUXUserGroups. This would entail having an entry in NUXUserGroups for every user and and their associated groups. If this is not possible I would really appreciate any alternatives that would allow this kind of functionality? (Am I right that LDAPUserGroups requires write access to the LDAP server?) How to include a parameter with ZTUtils?

Hi All I have been able to get a solution for my earlier queries.I am new to the group and many of my queries may seem to not be big .But still many of the members have taken time and helped me out. I am very thankful. There is another problem i am stuck with again involving ZTUtils <table tal:define="results list_clients; start request/start|python:0; batch python:modules['ZTUtils'].Batch(results, size=5, start=start)"> <div tal:repeat="result batch" > <tr> <td><a href="zpt" tal:attributes="href zpt_delclient?id=result/id">Delete</a></td> </tr> </table> I want to call a page template called --zpt_delclient-- and pass the value of ID to the page using --result/id--.But i am getting an error saying: Compilation failed TAL.TALDefs.TALError: Invalid variable name "zpt_delclient?result" How can I call a page template or may be a python script and pass a value like id which is a part of the result set batch and after the value comes to the page template zpt_delclient ,HOw can i get the value of ID to send it or display it? I had asked in my earlier mail if there is any better way to get a recordset loop through it and print the values or obtain the values IS there some way that I can access the record set without using ZTUtils? and hence make it easier to call another PYTHON Script or page template and pass a value also? You need to set Locale in z2.py. For Windows and iso-8859-2 (czech character set) it is "cz" (linux is "cs_CZ"). For iso-8859-1 I does not know your locale. Regards J.
