I would like to introduce the first annual Zope Community Awards. In order to recognize some of the more unsung heroes of the community I would like start these awards. creating instances of ZDiscussions programatically

I am having difficulty creating instances of ZDiscussions programatically. Creating instances from the ZMI works fine. But creating instances as an action and having it work automagically has proven to be a problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

Deinstalling LeakFinder

I installed LeakFinder a few weeks ago then removed it soon after. LeakFinder does not show up in the Product listing anymore, but it still throws an exception at startup 2002-07-26T16:36:16 PROBLEM(100) ZODB Could not import class 'LeakFinder' from module 'Products.LeakFinder.LeakFinder' And it still shows up (with a broken icon) under the control panel, with the caption "This object from the LeakFinder product is broken!" So how do I remove this last vestige of LeakFinder?

AttributeError: getOwner

Hi, I have a strange problem with my ZClass. We have built a layout system, where pages (a ZClass) contain components (another ZClass) of different types (header, text...); the code for adding, changing and displaying the components is stored in templates (which are DTML Methods and _not_ part of the component object but stored in an ordinary, acquisited folder). However, since I condensed the code to simply tell each component to render itself, I get an error when I try to modify the component via the interface. I tracked it down to common.manage_changeProperties, which throws an AttributeError, error value: getOwner. DateTime....

Hi, My Problem, as mentioned before, is the defining of date boundaries to select entries from a catalog. Everything worked very fine when i just defined 1 date boundary. If I define two date boundaries (range:min:max style) i dont get back a single record. Has somebody expierienced this problem before? I took the information how to create this function from the Zope Book page 181. Please help me, i really dont know how to go on ! thanx, Sebastian

populating form values from a sql method

A users starts with a blank form. She fills in some field values, slects some values form pull-downs. Submits the form which adds a new record into a database. Later, the user wants to update that infomation (or input a NEW record but use that info as a template). What is the cleanest way to pull up that form with the fields already containing the data from that database record? Is there a product that is close to this? Formulator? TIA

upgading to python2.1.1 on windows

I am currently using Zope2.3.2 on windows with python1.5.2. I need to use some functionality of python 2.1.1 which is also installed on the same machine. What is the easiest way to use the newer python with Zope? Changing the start script to use python2.exe instead of python.exe does not work. TIA
