Returning incremented id from mysql query?

Hi all, I'm looking for a way to get the id generated when I insert data into a table with an auto-incremented key? I've found vague references to this, but assuming I do an insert from a python script, calling an SQL method like: container.SQL.insertSomething(name="bob") how would I get the id. Have you tried just saving PowerPoint pres to html and uploading the parsed html & image files. Change the first page to index_html ? Well, it's coming from line 232 in ParsedXML/DOM/ExpatBuilder.py :-) I suspect the problem may be your input and/or how you are using the product rather than with the product itself. Are you adding the ParsedXML object programatically or through the ZMI? Can you create ParsedXML objects through the ZMI?

Changing Python Instances in Windows

Is it possible to configure Zope to use the instance of Python already installed on a machine, ignoring the one that installs with Zope? I am running 2.5.1 on Win2000 as a service, so I don't think changing the start.bat will do it. Thanks, Aaron Gillette

portal_type and catalog

Hi, I have 2 version of Zope 2.4.3 and 2.5.1. The 2 versions give the same strange result. I have declared a type 'Document' in my portal_type. I have construct a 'Document' named 'NewDocument' under my Folder, when I was connected and Authenticated. In a DTML Document named 'Search' I have <dtml-let results="portal_catalog> <dtml-var search_against> </dtml-let> The parameters are Type='Document' and SearchableText='' in hidden input. Both of the 2 versions return to me : 2 Found objects : 1 -> My NewDocument of type 'Document' 2 -> My Document declared in the portal_type. Anybody has an answer on it ? Hmmm... Parsed XML is a Zope Product. It goes into PRODUCTS_HOME (INSTANCE_HOME/lib/pythonProducts) or should be symbolically linked there. Simply unpack it there, go to the Control Panel using the ZMI and restart Zope. You should see it in the products listing and it should not be broken. Installing PyXML into the Python Zope should be straightforward. Unpack the directory and then, using the python in INSTANCE_HOME/bin run ..... setup.py build ..... setup.py install Here ..... is the path to PyXML and into PyXML to the setup program. PyXML uses distutils which is part of the python library for python 2.X.

First, I strongly suggest you download and use the CVS version. A number of significant bugs have been fixed in that version. Second, it seems that you have mixed your metaphors. I would suggest that you use the binary distribution for Linux. Zope 2.5.1 seems to be the preferred version. It comes with Python 2.1.3 preinstalled and configured. When you incorporate products you need to do it relative to the Zope Python which is located in the INSTANCE_ROOT/bin/python. I believe that ParsedXML now requires PyXML at some level. The instructions are fairly complete and worked for me.
