Newbie Question on using External Python Library

I have a python script that I run that checks the status of lpc printers on remote solaris boxes using python's telnetlib. I'm trying to get this to run under zope... and I'm getting the nasty authorization message that is supposed to happen. Can I get to this library from within Zope? I tried to add telnetlib as an external method... but to no avail. It's looking for an argument such as (Oh heck, I'm not in front of it right now). I was hoping I could. a) Get this to work / work around the problem. (I've tried an external method, but the class TELNET doesn't have an "func_default" attrib (I'm lost). or b) Just use an html page with the python script. (exec problem???) Do I have access to the "wealth" of python libraries from within Zope that I'm coming to know and love ? or not :<( ? Thanx in advance for anyone's help.

zope hosting

Hi, I'd like to host multiple Zope sites. 1. How do I modify the list of Products available on a per-site basis? Or is there just one list of products per Zope instance? That is, I can't have different "add object of type" lists in each VirtualHost? 2. How do I configure disk quotas for Zope sites? I can't use the OS because it's all in Data.fs for that Zope instance, true? Thanks, // mark -

nice icons

Hi folks, I'm looking for some nice icons to use on my zope powered homepage for representing different document types. At the moment I need icons for "pdf", "ps", "tex", "howto", "link" - but it would be nice to have others as well. I like the zope icons for "howto", "wiki" etc. because they're small and simple while still looking nice. I was wondering if there are other icons from this family out there somewhere, or if not, if anyone knows how to obtain a nice matching set of icons in a similar style. Thanks in advance, christian

It comes from PyXML and is their extension set. Sounds like some kind of configuration problem. <SIGH> Anyhow, good to hear you are in business...

I use it for simple data base type operations (postgresql) and use the product as is. I tweak the look and feel but am satisfied with what I use it for. Thanks, created table but can't figure out how to apply. Guess I need to crawl back to the newbie table. Any suggestions? I can see the the data when I do a select * from log. This would be good if I could use this to track certain access to web pages data. Is this what the product is good for? newbie: referencing objects with dtml

Every time I get some time to play with Zope I feel like a complete idiot all over again. It's nice to have constant source of self abuse. I have index_html in my root folder (a publishable resource.. Hah!) I also have a /refs folder, with a quotes folder inside that, with some text/html files inside that. I want to insert one of these files in refs.quotes inline into index_html I had this figured out the other day but I forgot how I did it...probably was using dtml file objects or something... (Zope 2.6.0a1) <dtml-var expr="refs.quotes.file"> while saving this (Save) it doesn't save it, and says instead: says: Error Type: SyntaxError Error Value: unexpected EOF while parsing (line 1) Trying: <dtml-in refs> <dtml-var sequence-item> </dtml-in> says unsliceable object Hope you get a good laugh out of this. :-) -Patrick Price
