I think I have finally traced down at least some of my problem. The MySQL DA adaptor is smart -- for DateTime columns it wants a DateTime object and it returns a DateTime object. Mixing strings and DateTime objects is not a good idea so I have modified my stuff to keep everything as a string until it goes into the database (or there's a need for a DateTime quantity) and, when it comes out from the database and is needed as a string, I force an explicit conversion. Simple, but hard to track down when the infomation flow is complex.

SLQ-connection Pooling

Hello! I just realised I have never understood wether zope pools sql-connections or not. I am using DCO2 and we are using PythonScripts and External methods to execute the queries - zsql-methods use too much memory (that is sometimes not released) and are too slow for what we need to do, aside from the fact that we cannot use bind-vars in zsql-methods (yet I hope :-). What I am wondering about is connection pooling. I am not sure if a DB-connection object pools it's connections or not. This has some impact on how we configure our oracle client. Anyone has some insight to share on this? slicing absolute_url

I'm already running the 0.4.2 binary release. I've tried it on both a WinME machine and a WinXP machine, with no luck. Any other ideas? Actually, if you see the page it says that it's possible to download the sources and compile them under other systems. I haven't try it, but the author says it works. By the way, I read also that the "Photo and Photo Folder" product uses ImageMagic. So I guess it's possible to make it work. I know that older libraries of Perl does know to create GIF images, but few years (1-3, does not know exactly) GIF images are forbidden (license, patents).
