Hi there, I am trying to use a pathindex to return all documents in a given folder. Can anybody please give me an example how to do this. All my attempts are in vain so far. thanks Robert I am using v2.51

Contact Management Product?

I'm looking for a Zope product that will help me keep track of phone calls and meetings that I have with people; a contact management database. Does anyone know of one? I searched zope.org and google and only came up with a solution based on ParsedXML and an XSL stylesheet. Thanks! Mark

My Way of Zope Programming

Hi! After using Zope more than one year I want to share my experiences with you That's what I think: 0. Learn python 1. Don't programm Zope TTW (Through the web) This applies if you have a small group of developers. If you have many developers who know HTML editing TTW might be for, but then this text does not apply This means: Use Python Products 2. Don't use ZPT, DTML or ZClasses. I spent to much time searching for the line were the error occured. Since I use python I no more have theses problems. Example: def foo(self, REQUEST): "docstring" .... ret=[] ret.append(self.root.standard_html_header()) ret.append(""" <your tag> %s <foo>%s</foo> </your_tag> .... """ % (var1, var2)) return string.join(ret) 3. Don't use acquisition. The only part where acquisition is usefull is for the standard_html_header See the example above how to do it without it 4. If you are starting a new project use ZODB for the storage and not a relational database. Soon directory storage will be stable and you have the latest storage solution 5. Use BTrees. They are very scalable. But pay attention: The keys must all be of the same type. What do you think about it?

How do you check for null search fields?

I have a search form with 3 different fields and need to verify that there is a value in at least one of them. I know that <dtml-if expr="some_field"> will test for one, but how do I determine if anyone of the three contains a value? I've checked the how-to's and Google but can't find anything. I'm using ZODB. TIA, Michael

Root Problem

Erk. I have a problem. I went to implement the changes in a version I was working on and somehow something must have been conflicting (Although I'm not sure how, Zope is good about locking up the original version just for that reason). Now when I click on my Root folder (Where my version object was), I get an error telling me it can't access that URL. I can access all my other regular folders under the root through the left-side menu and can view about half the actual files via the web that I have stored under the root. But the rest of them are locked up (which I assume is where it thinks the problem is, is in one of those files) and I can't access the management screen, so therefore cannot go back and undo the version save to figure out what went wrong. Is there anyway I can fix this easily? Any help is very much appreciated. On a side note, thank you to the people who responded to me on zipping help, I almost have it up and running. Thank you in advance.
