MSWord Document fails with Zope251?

Hi all, I have Win95 Czech, Zope 2.51, Python 2.1.3, Win32all 1.47, M$Word97 Czech, Locale CZ in p2.py This error appear after upload DOC document via web interface and file was not uploaded. With unpatched NullResource.py publishing via FTP it does not report any error in console and uploaded successfully, but I dont know how to call that converted page. If I call it as http://localhost:8080/www/www.k-net.cz/cs2/11mb.doc then Zope put 11mb.doc. If I dont use .doc extension, nothing or any .htm*, _htm* ext, URL not found. It fails both with patched NullResource.py and original version. What is wrong? Many thanks, J. Zope Redundant Server Architecture

Hi all, This is a little bit OT. I have a Linux Server (running Zope and other CMS solutions) in production state and would like to setup a backup server for this one. What I intended to do is to mirror the existing server and, when necessary, switch to the mirror. I have done some searching on this topic and found "fake", "heartbeat" and some other tools. But I dont know which mirroring tool I should use. I need to mirror the whole server not only the Zope instance. What is the best solution in this case? Any experiences? Juergen

Wierdness with ZCatalogedObject product

This one must be obvous, but it's sure got me ! ZCatalogedObject product, on pristine Zope2.5.1 win binary ditribution. Where tstObject is an instance of ZcatalogedObject, calling (from a python script): container.tstObject.manage_changeProperties({'prop1':999}) gets me a TypeError, manage_changeProperties() takes at most 2 arguments (3 given) on the line where PropertyManager.manage_changeProperties() is called from within ZcatalogedObject.manage_changeProperties(). Signatuere is the same for both. At this point I solicit tips for what could be causing this message, which appers to be manifest rubbish to me (at least after breaking my brains on this one for so long). Sourceforge product

manage_renameObject in OrderedFolder

Hello I can't figure out what security permissions is needed to use manage_renameObject in an OrderedFolder. Shouldn't it be the same as in Folder? For me it isn't!!??! DocFinderEverywhere says a Manager can use it, but even that doesn't work! volunteer or help for volunteering

Hi There is this great zope installer for Zope 2.4.3 for MacOSX including the Zope controller on: http://www.zope.org/Members/richard/zope_for_osx/ As I learned, we don't have one for Zope 2.5. I would love to make one if someone told me how (I have the developer tools). Can anybody help? Thanks a lot Uwe

The docs are a big help. For developent purposes, I've set the infinite timeout (it's a pain to have things disappear while you ponder problems); in production we'll set things to 60 minutes or so.

Thanks Chris. I'll take a look. I got the hooks working, sorta. I wanted to use them for session tracking but 1) they are invoked pretty early--when the session is created but before any session data is installed and 2) users don't really every logout (they just go elsewhere) and so the session objects remain around and never get closed out. Yuck. Anyhow, for my purposes I will need to examine them periodically, cull out the old ones, etc. Still, it's a nice feature.

zope, virtual hosts

Hi, I've been reading: http://www.zope.org/Members/regebro/Zope_and_Apache trying to setup Zope with Apache. I'm using the approach described by the heading: Virtual hosting with several sites per Zope server I've updated httpd.conf and restarted Apache. I've downloaded Zope 2.5.1, unpacked it into /usr/local/ and ran: cd /usr/local/Zope sudo ./install -u apache -g apache When I try to access the virtual host from the browser, I get Connection refused: proxy cannot connect to 127.0.0.1 port 8080 failed. Is this because I need to run the start script for Zope? If I need to run the start script to start Zope, I'm surprised that I haven't seen more reference to adding that to /etc/init.d/ and such.
