interpreting DTML

Hi What i am trying to do is highlight particular words/phrases in a DTML Document. What i need to do is read in src dtml from a document, modify it then output it onto the screen (interpreted) I am currently using "_.getitem(var_name).document_src()" to get the src of the document as a string which seems to be working fine. The string manipulation is easy enough, there are no problems with that either. The problem is now that i have the modified DTML src in a string, there seems to be no way to have it output the interpreted version of it. (HTML tags get rendered, just DTML tags don't get interpretd) It leaves the dtml tags still in it so any dtml-var's i have for images don't get interpreted and neither do things like <dtml-var standard_html_header>. If i save the string to an object then render that object it will work, but there has to be a way of doing it without cluttering up the ZODB. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ryan

problem with Zeo, it hangs a lot and never reply the request

Hi!! I was using Zope with zeo, two client machines, connecetd to a main machine. I was running this for about a month, and it was working OK. For some reason, that i dont know, stop working. I didn't change any configuration in any of the computers, the problem started a week and a half ago, but these monday the Zeo crash. This is the problem: If i start zope with ZEO, when a client request a page the ZeoClient hangs a lot and never reply the request. What i meant is that the browser mantain an Status of "opening www.mydomain.com" (on IE)but never display the page, and never tell me any error. In Nestacpe sent me a "Time Out Request", and in Lynx stays in a status of "Waiting for reply". Fir0st of all i thought that may be was a communication problem, but I use Lynx locally and does the same thing. Secondly i thougth it may be was the Squid cache, but here i my reason to think that is ZEO: If start Zope without ZEO (No ZSS and no Client servers, only one machine running Zope and point all my squid caches to the server running zope) the site works fine, display the pages fine. And if I start the ZSS and the CS in the machines the site does the problem above mentioned. I use this command to start ZEO (the same config that appears in the Zope Book) python lib/python/ZEO/start.py -p 8800 -h 192.168.0.1 My clients run with the custom_zodb.py with 192.168.0.1 as the host and 7700 as the server port. The clients listen on the 8080 port. Just for the record i have running Client servers in all the machines (the ones with the squid and the one with the ZSS running) I have cheked teh stupid_log_file, the Z2.log and the one that zope creates with -M parameter, and neither of them sent me some error or tell me that something is wrong. Insert in DB using ZPT+SQL

Hi all I want to insert data using ZPT. I have no problems with getting data from the ZSQL object. The same login does not seem to work for insertion of data. I am aware of the trick using DTML. Anybody with tips please respond. TIA Chetan

stupid question- ZSQL

Hi all, I'm a relative newbie in Zope, but I have Zope 2.3.3, and now I'd like to manipulate data from an sql query in a python script. I read http://www.zope.org/Members/spinwing/ZSQL_Results , but as soon as I start asking for container.<query>().dictionaries() I get an attribute error. So I had a look at the code, it's there. attributes, names, tuples, everything. Only I can't access half of them. Help Help. Any pointers? -Erik PS what I *really* want to do is similar to this: list 1 contains types of lists list 2 contains people on those lists query: select list1.id, if(list2.list1_id=list1.id,'checked','') where list2.person_id = xxxx this shoud ideally give me a table with 1 checked 2 checked 3 4 checked or something like that. Only SQL doesnt; work like that, so I actually need to do: select list1_id from list2 where person_id=xxxx (gives me a list of ids) select list1.id, if(list1.id in <the list of ids>,'checked','') where list2.person_id = xxxx Now how to make the list, which simply needs to look like "1,2,4"

Structured text and MySQL

Hello, I use MySQL to keep informations about my comics. In this DB, I've got a field with structured text in it. When I render it, it just render fine except when I use non-ascii caracters ie *foo* -> <em>foo</em> but *école* -> *école* Is there any work around ?? -- (°> Nicolas Évrard / ) Liège - Belgique ^^

It's a python module to access ImageMagick (http://www.imagemagick.org) a library set to manipulate several image types. I'm not sure if it works. I just read a little bit and it says that it supports gifs. I hope it helps, Josef

VHM inside-out help pls (bug?)

At a customer's site I need to serve different Zope instances from virtual subdirectories. www.dom.com/f1/ -> z1.dom.com/ www.dom.com/f2/ -> z2.dom.com/ ... However I am out of luck with VHM. The following works only partially: RewriteRule ^/f1/(.*) \ http://z1:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/www.dom.com:80/VirtualHostRoot/_vh_f1/$1 It appears that I cannot serve the Zope root folder with this technique. What I get are locations starting with double slashes ('//'), confusing the hell out of my browsers. I *can* serve subfolders but that is not what I want. From the docs it seems that it should work so it might very well be a bug. Note that it works with a static SiteRoot object configured like Base: http://www.dom.com Path: /f1 But that is also not what I want because the host and protocol parts are actually dynamic (passed to Apache in some custom HTTP headers).
