Great. We are about to go live in a first release. Is Zope 2.6a1 stable? It has some great features but I feel a bit queasy releasing alpha software on an alpha system...

What's the current status of the ErrorReporter product? (Is there any documentation?) I want to capture Zope errors to my handler--is this the right product?

dynamic navigation menu: comparing context to container

Hi, I have a Python script called select_this() that is supposed to return a boolean indicating whether the current item should be highlighted or not, depending on whether the current context is on that item's path. (One problem I may have in asking my question is I may not be using the correct terminology, so I invite any rewording that would make this more clear. I'm relatively new to Zope.) The problem is that it always returns 0 (False), so I think my problem is that I don't understand what context and container are--or how to compare them. Pointer to ZSQL Method using the UPDATE call

Hi, I have been poking around to try to find the proper syntax to do an UPDATE within and ZSQL Method. I will need to update several fields within the call. I tried using the following: update field_service_log set <dtmlsql-var caller_name type="string"> where <dtml-var service_log_num = service_log_num> It will save but produce an error. Test if an object exists in a folder

Hi, I am trying out Zope on SuSE Linux 8.0 Professional. The software is bundled with SuSE 8 and is installed by the system installer and automatically started by the system. Because of this, I do not get the Username/Password combination printed at startup. I have examined the inituser file and can see the username, but the password is encrypted. So I used zpasswd.py to change the inituser password, but for some reason I can still not log in. Authentication failed...would you like to try again..blahblah. I have tried this several times with diferrent username password cobinations(real simple ones) so no fingertrouble. After using zpasswd.py I verify that it actually did change the inituser wich it has, but no entry allowed. Any ideas?

manage_workspace in doubt

Hello, We have a strange problem which only occurs on certain PC's/browsers. In the Zope management screen, the left menu lists all folders. Each folder points to /folder/manage_workspace (as can be seen in the status bar). Normally, /folder/manage_workspace is redirected to /folder/manage_main, so you see the contents of the folder on the right. On some PC's, instead of /folder/manage_workspace /folder/index_html appears, the page as seen by a visitor, which is not wat we want. It has nothing to do with rights. When I log in at my own PC, everything works fine, but logged in on this "problem PC", I have the mentioned problem. How is this possilble? Or better: how can I solve this? Dynamic Menus

Sorry here's yet another newbie question . . . I'm looking for the best way to set up dynamic menus for my zope sites. With PHP and Mysql, I set up a table for categories and a table for articles. In the categories table, a field specified whether a particular category should be added to the menu or not. In rendering the menu, I checked which category the user was in, and highlighted that entry in the menu. Each category could have one or more articles, and one article could be set as the "default" article for that category and therefore automatically displayed. If there was no default article, a list of links to all the articles in that category was displayed. I'm wondering whether I'll need to create a "product" to come up with something in zope that has the same functionality. The only built-in option I've found so far is the "dtml-tree" tag, which I guess will do until I've figured out the ins and outs of zope well enough to program stuff for it.
