Disable the z2.log

I am fronting Zope with Apache and I believe the apache logs will do fine for all of my logging needs. I've looked over doc/ENVIRONMENTS.txt and doc/LOGGING.txt but haven't found an easy command line option to just get rid of the z2.log ... except for setting it to /dev/null ... The option that I am considering is to remove the stupidFileLogger from the loggers tuple. Custom id genaration on copy/paste of ZClass

Hi All, I created my own ZClass which has a generated id, when I copy & paste the ZClass in the same folder I want a new id generated for the copy and not the automatic 'copy_of' id. I looked at CopySupport.py and it states: def _get_id(self, id): # Allow containers to override the generation of # object copy id by attempting to call its _get_id # method, if it exists. n=0 if (len(id) > 8) and (id[8:]=='copy_of_'): n=1 orig_id=id while 1: if self._getOb(id, None) is None: return id id='copy%s_of_%s' % (n and n+1 or '', orig_id) n=n+1 Is it possible te override this method in a ZClass to create my own id's Greetings Ralph

incrementing variables in ZOPE

hi! I have this DTML problem, I want to display the contents of a particular folder in tabular form. say 5 columns by x rows. I once did this table display using incrementing counters on PHP, but I can't find its equivalent in Zope(I'm new to Zope and dtml). Can you guys help me. some ideas would really help. newbie question on acl_users

How to catalog ZDiscussion Item objects?

Hi, In my effort to integrate ZUBB with CMF/Plone, I want to catalog ZDiscussion Items. The problem is that they do not show up in the Catalog's "Find objects of type" selection box. The ZDiscussion Topics do show up, however. How can I get ZDiscussion Items to show up in the "Find objects of type" selection box? The purpose of this exercise, by the way, is to create a slot on my home page that will show the latest posted messages in discussion forums, along with their properties. Cataloging each discussion item this way seems to be the best approach, but I'm open to other suggestions. Thanks! ZCatalog

Is there any way to make a ZCatalog catalog items automatically? Is there anyway to Catalog Yihaw objects only? At present we can only designate "Yihaw Folder" and not the sub Yihaw objects. Can you point me to some good documentation.

Thanks for the input so far!! OK, I've made a little progress. By comparing the Python tree in Zope and the Python tree in ActiveState I guessed that putting the packages in "C:\PROGRA~1\WebSite\bin\lib" would work. More specifically, I put the sping and PIL directories in that path and not in a sub-directory called "site-packages". This allows me to import sping just fine. When I try to import PIL (indirectly through sping) I get an error that it can't find the _imaging C libraries. The _imaging.pyd file is in the DLLs directory in ActiveState and it works fine there. I have tried many, many locations in the Zope installation (even in the system32 directory) and can't seem to find one that works. Does anybody have an idea about this one?
