Zope couldn't be seen from outside!

Hi! I'm new to Zope. I've been working on it for 5 days and set up a web site on it. It works well on my machine(I have a static IP but not a domain name yet). I visit my web site by typing "http://123.456.789.000:8080/artman", it works, how excite! But today, I visit it from another machine through the internet, it seems something wrong with it. My homepage couldn't be found! why? do you have any idea for it? would you help me? The configuration in Z2.py is default, my platform is windows 98 se. Zope Sessions in 2.5.X

Where are the most current docs for Zope Sessions? I've tried google and zope.org and get lots of references to older stuff (pre 2.5.0). Things I am trying to find out are ... Where/how to set the session timeout? How to change the session managers behavior (use cookies vs. url vs. other).. Duncan, thanks *very* much. I thought things must be a little simpler than they seemed. This works nicely. So, with that little issue overcome, I guess the only thing I'm left wondering is why my content objects need to contain any explicit use of zpt *within their source* (as opposed to as a property on the object). Using only standard zope objects, the only ways I can see of overcoming this require nasty url mangling that locks me into a specific site system (due to embedded links). By this I mean, if I want to have a zpt called as a method of my object when it's rendered, I could do one of: /render?id=content_object /content_object/view where 'render' is some sort of script that does something like standard_template.__of__(content_object) and where view is an alias to 'standard_template'. How do other people deal with this, or do you just live with having zpt in your content source? cheers, tim

Close but no cigar ;-) zope-dev is for development of Zope. This sounds like development *with* Zope, which is zope(a)zope.org territory, and where I've forwarded this. Hello, with the help of Dieter Maurer and Oliver Bleutgen , (thank you very much for your detailed and helpfull explanations), I was able to enhance load_site.py to upload files with extension ".zpt" as zope page templates. I can't seem to get site-packages to work under Win32

I am trying to install sping (piddle) and PIL so that I can use them under Zope. When my external method tries to import them I get a "no module named ..." message. I have tried creating site-packages under "C:Program Files\WebSite\bin\lib\site-packages" and under "C:Program Files\WebSite\lib\Python\site-packages". Neither seems to work. Response with a big file

Hello all: I have a problem when I try to return a big file (a multimedia file exactly) in a response, i.e. a user request for a file, the a I generate this file and return him with the minimal headers (like content-type, Content-disposition...)... then zope starts to eat CPU time (99%) and spends a lot of time in start to send this response... What can be the problem? I have apache in front of zope 2.5.0.
