traversal problems

Hello, I have problems with traversal and the default Zope session data manager. My goal is to have many session data managers and a 'router' object that (when traversed) routes a user's web request to a new path that traverses the right session data manager (and thus makes it set the lazy object SESSION, if it is referenced in the original request). To achieve this, I wrote a SimpleItem class (called Prova for now) with a __bobo_traverse__ method that does nothing but returning an unrestrictedTraverse on the new path (which is the original one splitted in the middle and joined with the path that traverses the session data manager of interest). To make an example, let's say I put a bunch of session data managers each in a folder named /mySite/sdm#Folder. If the original request was: /mySite/folder1/prova/myDTMLMethod where myDTMLMethod sets the SESSION object, the Prova object (the router), when traversed, decides that session data manager #1 should handle this session, and returns: unrestrictedTraverse('/mySite/sdm1Folder/folder1/prova/myDTMLMethod') Unfortunately, this doesn't work: the SESSION object is not (lazily) appended to the REQUEST, but I can't figure out why. Also, I don't know if this is the right way of implementing the behaviour described above or should I use response.redirect() instead. I tried the first scheme by hand, as well, calling directly the URL /mySite/sdm1Folder/folder1/myDTMLMethod from a web browser and everything works fine: this time the SESSION object is created and appended to REQUEST. Checking variable types in Python Script

Hi, How do I use type() in Python scripts. It seems that type() is restricted code (why?) is there any special replacement for type checking? Well there is propably nothing wrong with Zope. Just that the IP ( really cute 123.456.789.000 ) is not accessible from the real internet ip-space. Restricting object types in container

I'm trying to build a product for the first time -- please bear with me if I have lots of questions! My first one is: I'm building a container object which is a subclass ObjectManager. The ZDG says it's possible for my object to restrict the types of objects that can be contained within, but the example given to set the meta_types tuple doesn't appear to work -- instead, it appears to add an entry to the available objects list rather than exclude all others. Does anyone know of a way in which I can explicity declare which object classes can be contained within a container class in Zope 2.5.1? Thanks, -- Michael S. You might be better off to filter squid's logs into compbined format before analysis. take a look at: http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=a6pq1i%2411lj%241%40FreeBSD.csie.NCTU.e du.tw&oe=UTF-8&output=gplain You may need to copy/pasted & base64 decode the attachment in that URL (it is a perl script). The downside to this setup is log files with log_mime_hdrs can grow relly big really quickly on a big site, so watch your rotation (Squid does not support the LFS API). Page Templates in products

I'm pretty new to playing around with products, but a common thing I see in products is: from Globals import HTMLFile product_addform = HTMLFile('www/addform', globals()) So my question is, is there a way to do a similar thing with the source of the file being a page template rather than DTML? Zope and WebSphere

Hi All, I have a client who currently uses WebSphere to host all his stuff, using jsp and JavaBeans. What are the options to have WebSphere and Zope happily live next to each other? Does WebSphere use Appache, or does it have it's own webserver? Thanks for any advice, Douwe Osinga

Have you considered the possibility of a firewall/router blocking port 8080 somewhere between point A and point B?
