Hi, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but what I want is a folder listing, including subfolders. I have the following python script called 'dtmllist': list=[] for i in context.objectValues(): if i.meta_type == 'Folder': list.append(i) list.append(i.dtmllist()) elif i.meta_type == 'DTML Document': list.append(i) return list When I test this script I get all the instances of objects like "<Folder instance at 8b5b670>, [<DTMLDocument instance at 8d79290>, .]". So it does see contents of the subdirectories. But. When I create a dtml document and fill it with this code: <dtml-in "dtmllist()"> <dtml-var id> -- <dtml-var title> -- <dtml-var meta_type> </dtml-in> .it shows this only the current folder of the dtml document. No subdirectories. Does anybody know why? Thanks.

Restricting the size of results returned by the Catalog

Hi, Is there a parameter you can pass to the catalog in a query to return the results as soon as a maximum results size is reached? Rather than the catalog returning say 3000 results and you want to restrict results to the first 500? I'm running zope 2.5.1, python 2.1.3, testing on win2000. Thanks for any help. Combining 2 Catalog results while keeping sort_on and sort_order correct

Hi, (zope 2.5.1, python 2.1.3, testing on win2000) A couple of areas of a site I am developing requires the catalog to be quried twice and the results combined. What is the most eficient method to combine these results while ensuring the complete results still follow the sort_on and sort_order sent in the catalog query? I have tried two methods: 1. Add the two results and re-sort the lot using ... all_results.sort( lambda x,y: getattr(x, sortOn), getattr(y, sortOn)) ... (sortOn passed in to the script) 2. Find which results is the smallest and insert these one by one into the larger results. (Similar code to something I came across in the zope pyhton code on my system, forget the name of it at the moment). Using the following code to find the right place in the larger results to insert the current item from smaller results. ... getattr(results[mid], sortOn) < getattr(y, sortOn) ... How to change site_url

Hi there, Due to a change in my server ipaddress I have to change the site_url of my customized squishdot site. By installatoin squishdot stores the variable site_url somewhere It is not possible to change the site_url in the properties tag of squishdot and I don't know how to change variables in the namespace. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Renier

TemporaryFolder & Session problem

ZClass : strange behaviour of a lines item in a propertysheet

Hi Zopistas, I'm making a ZClass with a "lines" property in a propertysheet. I add items in that list with a python script in the methods of that ZClass: mylist = container.list_links ... mylist.extend(items) The stange thing is that sometimes, the items are appended to the list_links property of the object (that's OK), and other times - in an untimely manner - the items are appended TO THE PROPERTY DEFINITION IN THE ZCLASS ITSELF !!!!! Is it a Zope bug ? Has an object has the ability to modify its own class !!!! In that case, it's a big security issue! This has been noticed on a Win32/Zope 2.5.1 box. I did'nt yet try on my freeBSD box. Any idea ? --Gilles

You need Python 2.1 and the modules compiled with/for it, because a lot of modules, esp. database stuff, uses C code linked to the Python interpreter. Move /usr/bin/python to /usr/bin/python2.2 - Install Python 2.1.3 from source. Have the binary be installed as /usr/bin/python2.1 and set up /usr/bin/python as a symlink to python2.2... Make sure your /usr/lib/python tree is actually /usr/lib/python2.2 and respectively, /usr/lib/python2.1. It is quite likely that to keep your 2.2 binary install from getting messed up, you will need to symlink /usr/lib/python to /usr/lib/python2.2. Install Zope from source tar file by untarring and running wo_pcgi.py with /usr/bin/python2.1. In theory, this should work. Sean P.S. You could always consider a switch to Debian, which keeps official packages for both python2.1 and python2.2, along with all the module goodies for each. Re: Friday the 13th and date range search :-)

I'm not sure, but I think I had a catalog from an old Zope version. It catalloged the ZClasses twice and got wrong date-ranges results. So, I created the ZCatallog and the indexes again.
