heavy process

Hello all: I'm having a problem with an external method that executes a heavy process. The action it tries to complete fails, (concretely, split an avifile with divx in several files using avisplit, a tool from transcode package). If the file I try to split is little, all works ok... I use os.system to do this task... If I execute the same code outside zope, all works fine, with big files or less big files... Password Problem

hi, I am using openLDAP server for authentication.UserName password and group information is stored in openLDAP. I am using LDAPUserFolder Product. I have provided a facility for user to change the password. When user changes password in my site, then zope loggs him out after sometime. Password change is reflected in openLDAP. To my knowledge the problem is: When user loggs-in Zope sets a cookie on client side containing username and password. LDAPUserFolder CACHES the currently authenticated user. With every request the cookie is sent and LDAPUserFolder authenticates it against the data[username and password] stored in its CACHE. After sometime(10 minutes) the LDAPUserFolder purges its cache and reloads the data from openLDAP. Here lies the problem....since our cookie on client side is still contain old password(if password is sent as a cookie) With every request we will send old password and now LDAPUserFolder has in its cache new password. Any solution is most welcomed, Ashish.

I am trying to save this page template but it keeps giving me this error. I don't see any html error. upload a file to a folder using a variable for folder names

Hi! I'm uploading a file to a particular folder in Zope using a form. For example I need to upload celebrants.txt to 2002/august/birthday so what I did (from a script by runyaga- thanks!) context.2002.august.birthday.manage_addFile() 1. error when I use '2002' so I changed it to 'yr2002' (why can't I use '2002'?) code now becomes context.yr2002.august.birthday.manage_addFile() 2. The month and year are hard coded. What if I want it to be supplied by the user. So my idea is to use a variable. for example month = month_value year = year_value code becomes context.year.month.birthday.manage_addFile() for example if month_value is september and year is yr2002 code should read context.yr2002.september.birthday.manage_addFile() but this produces an error. pcgi troubleshooting

Variable Passing Question?

Greetings All, I feel pretty dense asking this question, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. How do I pass a namespace variable to a python script from a DTML document. The zope book says to do this... <dtml-call expr="updateInfo(color='brown', pattern='spotted')"> But these values are hardcoded, and that's no good cause I need to pass a variable. I've tried a bunch of different ways but nothing seems to work (I either get a syntax error or a type error). I had thought that just substituting <dtml-var color> for 'brown' in the above example might work, but it doesn't. I then tried to quote the dtml-var tag (that just produced a type error), and then tried to reference the REQUEST object (like this color=REQUEST.color) and again it produced a type error. I've tried the following things... color=<dtml-var color> color='<dtml-var color>' color=REQUEST.color color=&dtml-color color=_['color'] color=color None of these work, and I can't seem to find any docs on how to make it work (I'm assuming that it does work somehow still at this point). Can anyone out there give me the correct syntax, or reference to the correct syntax? I'd be eternally grateful to anyone who can set me straight on this. Sincerely, Jason

suppressing tracebacks

hi, i´m trying to suppress tracebacks in error messages in zope 2.5.1; fussing around with BOBO_DEBUG_MODE=0 and HTTP_TRACEBACK_STYLE=none didn´t do anything; seems like zope defaults to debug mode (setting -D 0 didn´t work either), which it shouldn´t do... any suggestions? thank you!

Oh, well, zope doesn't crash, the only effect is that the file generated by avisplit is corrupted and this process returns the 335584 error code... Zope not returns nothing... Charlie Reiman said it can be the Apache timeout and I think so. I'm running Zope in front of zope with SSL... I'll continue investigate and I'll send you more feedback... WEBDAV write permission/zope 2.3

For some reason I can't write via webdav, only read. With zope 2.3.2 and 2.3.3... it used to work (I think) .... but I only see 'FTP access' permissions in the security lists... where is read & write webdav permission set? Marc
