ExternalEditor - which editor do you use?

Hello, just installed the ExternalEditor product. It works fine, but doesn't like my editor (which happens to be CREdit). Anyone who got it running with CREdit or could you recommend another editor (hopefully freeware). My Zope runs on a Linux box, but my client is a Windows machine. Date-Problem, perhaps OT

Hi, I have a strange date problem on my SuSE Linux machine running Zope 2.5.1. I guess it is probably system related and not Zope's fault, if so please excuse the OT-post. I noted that the system clock was one day off, so the bobobase_modificationtime was too. At the shell at root I issued date -s yesterday and a test date gave the correct output. I restarted Zope and added an object... from that point on, when a Zope object is created and displayed instantly, the date is correct. On the second and subsequent view of the object, the date again is one day off... Does anyone know why this is and more importantly, how to fix it? Is there a way to correct the creation/modification time/date of a Zope object?? Thanks Jochen

Using an external method into another external method

Let's say I have two external methods (foo1 and foo2) in two different files (myFile1 and myFile2 respectively) on my Extensions folder. I would like to import foo1 into the myFile2 where foo2 is. I have tried: from myFile2 import foo2 from Extensions.myFile2 import foo2 but it doesn't work. It says that Either myFile2 or Extensions doesn't exist. I don't want to put them in the same file because foo1 is called several times inside myFile1 and foo2 is called several times in myFile2. So, I would have to join both files into one and it wouldn't be an elegant solution. Does anybody have any idea? Thanks in advanced, Josef.

WebDav lock manager error

Hi, I have a file locked by webdav that I need to unlock. I thought the webdav manager might do this. Hi all, Few weeks ago here somebody tell about complicated solution if data.fs exceeds 2G limit. Todays I was found prevency for that situation - PartitionedFileStorage Little old, but may be usefull. Regards JL. ------8<--------- Partitioned FileStorage Created by hathawsh. Last modified on 2000/12/15. This is a patch to FileStorage that splits Data.fs into multiple files (Data.fs.1, Data.fs.2, etc.) This allows Zope's database to grow beyond the file size limits imposed by either Python or the operating system.

Parsing with sax

Hello, I had an application, on a computer with zope's installation for Windows, that uses xml and to parsing a file it uses the parseString() function. All the application on Windows run, but when I've put this application on the zope's installation for Linux, it give me this error: Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: 'xml.sax.expatreader' module has no attribute 'create_parser' Please, Is there someone that can help me?

Problem with structured-text on RedHat

i have a big problem using structured-text on Redhat Linux. I need german and french characters, which are not correctly represented. Each word with special character is ignored, for example: **Köln** ist not translated to: <strong>Köln</strong>. What I get to see is still **Köln**, so it will not be translated. I set LC_ALL evironment-variable to "de_DE" or "fr_FR" or "", I try to start ZOPE calling "start -L "de_DE" - does not help. There are also "locales"-directories on my machine with right files for de_DE, fr_FR and so on ... It works correctly on W2K or NT4 with start.bat -L "", but no chance for RedHat Linux... I tried 2 last Versions of RedHat... Any Ideas? Is there some other settings, which could help? transaction commit inside a Python Script?

I need to perform a transaction commit inside a Python Script, but get_transaction doesn't appear to be available. Can anyone hint at how to access the transaction to commit it? Richard
