ZCatalog "AttributeError: __call__" error

Hi all, I got this error when i tried to added a new ZCatalog, just as described in this msg: http://mail.python.org/pipermail/zope/2002-March/110480.html The same error occurs sometimes, while creating new pages in my Zwiki, i guess since i did the Zcatalog action above. problems accessing the zope manage page via apache

I got apache and zope on one server, I started zope to just listen on localhost. I defined some virtualhosts in the apache.conf, first I tried it with ProxyPass and after that with RewriteRules, both don't work. I can access the first screen, but if I try to access the manage page using the link on the first page, I get the error message, that the connection is refused on localhost:8080. On the first page, there are is also logo on left site missing. Here is what I configured in the apache: LoadModule rewrite_module libexec/apache/mod_rewrite.so LoadModule proxy_module libexec/apache/libproxy.so AddModule mod_rewrite.c AddModule mod_proxy.c <VirtualHost domain.tld> ServerName domain.tld ServerAdmin webmaster(a)domain.tld ServerSignature EMail CacheRoot /var/log/apache/domain.tld/cache RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://localhost:8080/$1 [L,P] ErrorLog /var/log/apache/domain.tld/error_domain.tld_log TransferLog /var/log/apache/domain.tld/access_transfer_domain.tld_log ProxyVia on </VirtualHost> I already read some docs on www.zope.org (eg. http://www.zope.org/Members/regebro/Zope_and_Apache) but it doesn't work for some reason I don't know. Get object by object id

What is the easiest way to get an object value given the object id? There is an API method objectValues('MetaType'), but I couldn't find a method analogous to getObject(objectId). Currently I'm getting all objects in the container with objectValues() and then iterating through them checking their id until I find the needed object. I suspect there is a better way that I'm not aware of. Any suggestions? --Borislav

If I want to duplicate an object, it currently involves: 1) selecting it. 2) scroll to bottom 3) copy 4) scroll to bottom 5) paste 6) select copy_of_ 7) scroll to bottom 8) rename 9) Enter new names 10) hit ok Yes, I count scrolling as steps. As soon as I get over 20 objects, scrolling is a pretty huge mouse movement. What would make my life easier is two simple things (and since they bug me, I should do them): 1) Duplicates of the action buttons near the top of the ZMI scrolling page, or in a separate frame. I hate needing to scroll to them all the time. It's just painful and I use them all the time. Putting them last means they are always be as far away as possible. 2) A 'Duplicate' button that copys selected objects and puts you right into the rename pane. Type in the new names and hit OK. This shouldn't really act as copy then rename, but just duplicate with new names. However I'd still want the bulk rename page. A nice trick would be to add a little javascript to apply a regex to modify the suggested new filenames, but that would just be icing and it would make some people hyperventilate. Not that it's relevent, but my other pet peeve is rename doesn't allow for swapping filenames. This is somewhat trickier since you could have N-way conflicts but it still should be doable. No, you are the only one to respond (except for the tip about IRC which would not work well for me). Unfortunately, we reviewed the situation this morning and tentatively decided to switch to JSP platform to complete the project. Thanks for the insight... but I don't think zope 2.3 has a 'WebDAV Access' permission, at least I don't see it. But I'll check the modify permission (btw it's not in a CMF, it's a ZPhotoAlbum, trying to use webdav to upload images.
