MySQL-python Question

Hello all: I just get MySQL-python and try to set it up in Zope. But Zope can't import it.Because Zope think there is no module name _mysql. Dos any one have solv this puzzle? Here is some of README in MySQL-python doc: "If you are using a binary package of Zope, you need run setup.py with Zope's python executable. Otherwise, Zope (ZMySQLDA) will not be able to find _mysql." God be with all of you.

Zope behind IIS

I'm using a 404 ASP script to proxy requests from IIS to Zope. It seems to be very unreliable and I'm getting quite a lot of broken images. Is there a better way of doing this? Hi. I am finished my application but have one last stumbling block. Its inside of AccessControl/Role.py in get_valid_userids() I have a object herirachy like: Zope Root -> MyApp -> Company -> Business Units in My App I have a PsycoPG connection object call my_users and in all Companies I have a exUserFolder. now when I goto a Company or Business Unit and try to assign/edit/list Local roles it bombs. Because exUserFolder cant find the 'my_users' connection object. Why? Well I know why.. because when the xxxLocalRoles screens are called they call get_valid_userids which at the top says: aclu = getattr(aq_base(item), 'acl_users', _notfound) and immediately aclu has all acquisition wrappers peeled off of it and now I can not go any further up the heirarchy than Company. I am very tempted in taking the aq_base(item) part off..and I believe all will work... But I really need someone who understands the implications of this to say whats the best way forward. I was thinking about overriding this method in my Company/Business Unit classes with a version that doesnt have aq_base(). I have no other acl_user folder objects except for in the root of the system. I could have one in My Application but its not necessary. thanks in advance, ~alan

ZPT nebie questions

I'm in the middle of trying to reimplement some DTML stuff in ZPT and I'm hitting what must be newbie problems. 1) Iteration and python expressions. I've got something like this: <table class="info" width="100%" tal:repeat="origin python:here.getorigins( fd=request.other['from_date'], td=request.other['to_date'])"> I then want to nest another repeat statement, based on origin: <tr class="somerow" tal:repeat="row python:here.innerstuff( request.other['from_date'], request.other['to_date'], origin)">  Using 'origin' here fails, as does 'repeat.origin' or 'repeat.origin.origin' (the actual attribute I'm trying to get to) or 'repeat['origin'].origin'. What is the chant I need to access repeat variables from python expressions? 2) Whither 'fmt='? I know this was answered but my search hasn't turned up any answer. I used to do this: <td class="num"><dtml-var hits fmt="%d"></td> <td class="num"><dtml-var ratio fmt="%.1f">%</td> This works in ZPT: <td class="num" tal:content="python:'%d' % int(row.hits)">0.0</td> <td class="num" tal:content="python:('%.1f' % float(row.ratio))+'%'">0.0%</td> But it seems like there should be an easier way.

Symbolic links within Zope?

Hi All, I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I haven't been keeping up. I would like a way to create a link to a folder from within Zope. So the image /test/something/gfx/this.gif could be access through both that path and /gfx/something/this.gif Thanks, Alec Munro

How can you tell it's XMLRPC ?

Is there a way to distinguish whether a request was made from a browser (no, not a particular browser) or from XMLRPC ? I would like to be able to tailor my responses to rpc requests so that I don't get a whole web page sent back when a value would do. Particularly, object creation code usually refers back to the management page of it's container, which isn't the response I want for rpc, success or failure would be preferable. Also, when Zope has a fault on XMLRPC, should it be sending back that big 'Zope Error....' message, according to the XMLRPC spec? J. Toman

My system configuration is: Mandrake-8.0 Postgres7.2 Zope -2.5.1 Python-2.1.1 I have tried this code after installing the xmlrpclib-1.0.1 directory in the Python-2.1.1/Lib folder Hence on importing xmlrpclib it does not throw any error. Secondly, I tried to modify the Catalog.py file with : 1/ the addition of this statement at the begining of the file : "from cDocumentTemplate import safe_callable" 2/ I made the modification you gave me "cDocumentTemplate.safe_callable" and in fact in the code this give : if(attr is not MV and safe_callable(attr)): attr=attr() Now, I can't start Zope and the error is below. For this I have no explanation, none at all. Zope Goblins. And perhaps the Goblins got scared by me downloading zope2.6.0. But without even rebooting the zope server all those ZClasses that didn't work suddenly *work* now. Perhaps as a result of doing an export. I have no explanation. I'm puzzled.
