Hi All, Trying to Catalog object of "DTML Document" type I got this error. It seems to work with other type of object. My config : Zope 2.5.1 + Windows NT4. Any idea ? Hi, I have a very strange problem here, driving me nuts: I have a class, derived from PropertyManager (and mixed in to several others instead of PropertyManager); it redefines PropertyMap to allow filtering by prefixes, but mainly adds new methods to work on the properties in a self-written administration interface. As a goodie, it supports the additional property keys 'descr' and 'title'. For them, and because I don't want to affect the ZMI functions, I need the methods 'admin_addProperty' and 'admin_changeProperties'. Problem is, they aren't called properly. As far as possible, I did it like ZMI does. The resulting HTML looks like this (entry fields omotted for clarity): <form action="http://complete.url/of/folderish/object/to/be/changed" method ="post"> (... entry fields for existing properties) <input type="submit" name="admin_changeProperties:method" class="form-element" value="Change" /> </form> (...) <form action=" http://complete.url/of/folderish/object/to/be/changed/admin_addProperty" method="post"> (... entry fields for a new property ...) <input class="form-element" type="submit" name="submit" value=" Add " /> </form> First I tried to define admin_addProperty exactly like manage_addProperty (args: self, id, value, type, REQUEST=None), adding two additional optional arguments at the end. This yields: admin_addProperty() takes at least 4 arguments (3 given) It seems to me that "self, REQUEST, RESPONSE" are handed over, because def admin_addProperty(self, REQUEST=None, RESPONSE=None): raise Exception('request: %s' % `REQUEST.items()`) # debug yields a beautyful REQUEST featuring all I need, BUT: I can't use it. It won't admit it has a get method (AttributeError). What the hell is wrong here? Is it because of a wrong name/prefix? zope2.6 src install problems

Hi, I have python 2.1.3 (with threads) running on a compiled RHAS kernel on which I built zope from source using the python2.1 wo_pcgi.py routine. My start script looks like the following : #! /bin/sh export INSTANCE_HOME="/var/local/zope" #export ZSYSLOG="/dev/log" export EVENT_LOG_FILE="/var/log/zope/Zope.log" cd $INSTANCE_HOME /usr/bin/env /usr/bin/python2.1 \ $INSTANCE_HOME/z2.py \ -D \ -z /var/local/zope \ -u zope \ -X \ -a 192.168.10.173 \ -P 192.168.10.173:8000 \ -f - \ -p - \ -m - \ -M /var/log/zope/detailed.log \ -l /var/log/zope/zserver.log However on starting I see the same problem as mentioned here: http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope-coders/2002-October/thread.html#2541 Also when I try to lynx the site I get an IOError could not find /...../App/dtml/zope_quick_start.dtml with the whole path which seems strange as it should not have been resolved like that. The reason I dont want to use the binary install is that I dont want another version of python floating around and I built and installed Py2.1.3 from source for the specific purpose of using it with zope. A previous message titled start problems lists another funky side problem that I observed, using nmap -vv -sS -p 1-65535 192.168.10.173 I found that zope opens up ports ( a truckload of them ) in the 30000 - 50000 range. Dieter suggested : # You told it to listen only on one interface (i.e. IP address). # Are you sure, you are using this interface (and not "localhost")? I made sure that I was using the interface I checked. Any ideas as to wtf is happening?? A little more information... cd "libImaging" ./configure --with-zlib=/usr/lib --with-jpeg=/usr/local/lib I checked "ImConfig.h" and the two #define statements for libjpeg and libz are uncommented, so configure properly recognized the options. However, when I run "make", i'm getting an error on the "jpegdecode" line: gcc -O -I./. -I/usr/local/include -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -c -o JpegDecode.o JpegDecode.c In file included from JpegDecode.c:37: Jpeg.h:11:21: jpeglib.h: No such file or directory make: *** [JpegDecode.o] Error 1 What does this mean? stops and does not start again. When the restart button is pressed I get a "Temporarily Unavailable" messesge but then Zope does not start up. Filling up Formulator form with values

Hi I'm using a Formulator form to "prettify" the properties of an item. So I have lots of PropertyManager descendants in my Zope tree. Now I want to use a formulator form as a window to the properties in these objects, so that the user gets a friendlier view and things are validated better. e.g. I have /jobs/vacancy123 /jobs/vacancy234 /content_types/job_form (A Formulator Form with fields matching the properties of all the objects in /jobs) I want to make a nice equivalent to manage_propertiesForm which uses job_form to edit the vacancies in /jobs/ How can I fill up a form with the values from an object's properties? Does this make sense? TIA, Felix.

LDAPUserFolder

Has anyone sucessfully installed LDAPUserFolder (2.0) on Zope 2.6.0 on Linux (Redhat 7.2 to be exact)? I've now spent the better part of the morning wrestling with this thing, and still keep getting a broken product with "no module named ldap" error each time. I've tried both binary and from-source versions of Zope, I've installed both source and RPM versions of python-ldap and openldap (various combinations of the latest versions), and I've copied various module files all over the place. I've used earlier versions of LDAPUserFolder sucessfully on Zope 2.4 versions, so I know in general how this is supposed to work. ANY clues would be greatly appreciated! Thanks- Larry + Larry J. I'm attempting to install PIL under Redhat 7.3, to use in conjunction with the Photo product. I have gotten it installed and GIFs seem to work fine, but JPEGs do not. I'm trying to follow the "Using PIL with Zope" document found at http://www.zope.org/Members/regebro/PIL_zope/. In Step 2, it instructs me to find out where my jpeglib is located using: ld -L/usr/local/lib -ljpeg -nostdlib ld -L/usr/lib -ljpeg -nostdlib Neither of these steps work, but I do have a file called "libjpeg.so.62" in /usr/lib, which I understand is actually the jpeg library I want. I also have a "libz.so.1" which i'm going to assume is my Zlib library, needed in step 1. OK, so I believe I have both the z and jpeg libraries on my system.
