How can I escape STX processing? For example, if my paragraph starts with: 123 Main st. How do I prevent STX to interpret it as: 1. Main st. Similarly, how can I keep J. Smith 123 Main st. from becoming 1. Smith 2. Main st. ? Is my only option to use :: and indenting? I'd like to avoid the <pre></pre> formatting... Is there an equivalent of <br /> in STX? Listen on IPv6 interfaces?

Hello, I want zope to listen my IPv6 inteface; for some reason it doesn't. How do I make it do that? My /etc/zope has this line: ZOPE_IP_ADDRESS="" Changing it to ZOPE_IP_ADDRESS="[::]" doesn't make a difference. -- Greetings from Troels Arvin, Copenhagen, Denmark

Hello, I have created a small tool for CMF to count how many times a specific object has been viewed. It's very simple. It works by a call I have added to my main_template.pt that calls the tool with the URL of recent object and counts up by 1. Adding transactional awareness to filesystem operations

I'm working on a CMS written in Zope, which uses static publishing. So we write files out to disk frequently. The transactional safety of Zope is nice (rolling back ZODB and database changes when an error happens). Unfortunately any disk operations we do don't get rolled back, causing inconsistencies. I figure I have to change our file-writing external methods so that there a commit/rollback, which isn't too hard. Having written these functions, how do I register them with Zope? Attribute lookup

Hello I have a class A, and another class B which is a wrapper for it (a Product, inherited from SimpleItem.SimpleItem). I want B to delegate most attributes to A: class A: def __init__(self, title, ...): self.title = title .... class B(SimpleItem.SimpleItem): def __init__(self, id, title): self.id = id self.innerA = A(title) def __getattr__(self, name): return getattr(self.__dict__['innerA'], name) This works fine for most attributes *but* title. SimpleItem.Item has a class attribute 'title' and, altough B instances have no 'title' attribute at all, they inherit an empty class attribute 'title' from Item, and never goes thru __getattr__. How could I arrange things so 'title' comes from inner A instance, and *not* from Item base class? Gabriel Genellina Softlab SRL

strange zope behavoir: zope not responding

I have observed some strange behavior from two of my zope servers (ver 2.6.2) that I am unable to find a cause for. FYI both servers are running on intel boxes under redhat 9.0. Case one; When I start the server in debug mode everything appears to be fine. When I went to the servers url on port 8080 I see the default indexpage. When I click the link for the management section I get a dialog to log in. After entering the correct user and pass my browser attempts to load the management section and hangs. Generall it builds the frames for the page and loads the data for the header frame and the text for the left (navigational frame) but only empty (image-not-loaded-yet-icon) boxes where the images should be and I can see nothing in the main page frame. If I restart the server the same thing happens. I also tried starting the server with these options -a ipaddress -Z1 -t 10 -f - -w - . After the page hangs it won't load(server?) the index page any more or any other page. My browser just sits there doing nothing until it times out with 'document contained not data' Case two After I start my server (different server then case 1) everything is fine and dandy for some time. I can create object, test objects and do normal zope stuff. At some point thought the server hangs, meaning any page I visit refuses to load and eventualy times out. At this point I can't even reload the page for objects that I am currently working on. The only thing that I remedies this is to restart zope. Another thing that I have observed is that generaly speaking when the server gets to this stage, if I press ctrl+c to kill the server (in the window where it shows that it is running) It doesn't actualy kill the server. I don't get the messages: 2003-10-31T00:50:45 INFO(0) Z2 Closing all open ZODB databases ------ 2003-10-31T00:50:45 INFO(0) Z2 Shutting down It just dies silently. But if I run ps aux | grep Zope it shows a Zope process running. Does any one have any idea why this is happening ? or have you ever experienced this yourself? thanks very much -matthew

Problem submitting large files to the document library

Hi, has anyone ever had problems when submititng large pdf files to the Zope DocumentLibrary. I've got three pdf files to submit.. two of them are about 400K while the last is nearly 3M. The first two are loaded ok wheras I get an error when trying to submit the last large file... Is there anything I can do about this or do I simply have to resign myself to the fact that largish files are not supported? Cheers Ruth
