Sorry, posted the wrong traceback in the previous post - the traceback happens after the buffer space errors (which are the first ones to appear). Also, once this happens, all "connection related" things starts giving problems (download managers, mail clients, etc.). From there on it seems everything that needs to connect to something remote cannot do it. This is probably not Zope specific, but since I get this in a Zope product I am writing, I will post here. My product uses urllib.urlopen to retrieve images generated by an Internet Map server and then displays them on a web page. Every now and again I get an "error" exception (I guess this is socket.error) with the description "No buffer space available". This probably has to do with the fact that Windows 2000 Professional only allows a limited amount of connections and this happens when you run out of connections (I found this after searching around for this type of error). Unfortunately I do not have the choice to go to a better operating system that is not crippled in this way. The problem seems especially bad when running more than one instance of Zope in addition to the Map server. Is there any way of determining from Python how many connections are left? Or would this rather be somewhere in the Windows libraries? Any suggestions on working around this problem - am I doing something wrong with urllib.urlopen that may cause connections to not be released? Key Error Strangeness with sql qeuries

Hello list... I'm having bizarre issues. When I try to create a sql method, such as this one... update dealer_entity set dealer_entity.contract_start=<dtml-sqlvar contract_start type="string" > where dealer_entity.dealer_code = '<dtml-var dealer_code >' I get the following error... It's rather bizarre as I have existing queries in the same directory which work just fine. I'm using a login with manager/owner permissions, which is the same user that has created the other objects in this folder. Have you any suggestions as to what could be causing this? zope version is 2-3-3 Thanks in Advance. SoapMethod and Web service Use- Help Needed!

I am trying to begin using SoapMethod and use a xmethods.com soap service for calling ODP category data (Dmoz.org) I am basically modifying the example getQuote method which comes with SoapMethod product. It works partly. It returns a response but nothing usable ...yet. How do I get meaningful data from a method call? I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but I have a Zope server frontended by Apache 2.0.40 and a phpBB instance running off the Apache. I haven't figured out a nice way to effectively integrate them but they both run inside the same virtual host and just create a link to the board from the Zope content. www.compsystech.ca/contactlist is the Zope/Plone content root. www.compsystech.ca/messageboard is the phpBB board. I haven't gotten around to trying to integrate the phpBB to look like it's "inside" the zope servers content beyond running them out of the same virtual host but for me that's good enough. Don't know if that's any help to you... Hi all, The first time I read about zope was about 20 minutes ago and since then I've been reading some docs. I'm developing a website and I have 2 questions. But before that, the facts: I have a server running apache2 webserver and I've already installed phpBB to run a forum in my site. Question 1: Is zope compatible with apache2 and phpBB? Question 2: I was thinking about developing the website in my laptop and the deploying it to the server through scp, ftp, I don't really know yet (maybe there's an easier way but none I know about). Where should I install zope, on the server or on my laptop? If I put it on the laptop will zope allow me to deploy it to the server? If I install it on the server, can I develop the website on my laptop? Please help me with any suggestions. Best regards, -- Paulo J. I'm forcing it to a str() as soon as I pull it off the request object. I think there may be something else going on in the Catalog object. It appears that any query that starts with a '*' gets the leading wildcard dropped. We have tons of articles on 'WebSphere', searching for '*sphere' finds entries with 'sphere' alone, 'w*sphere' properly find 'WebSphere'. I think I'll peruse the ZCatalog source and see if that gives me any hints. However, do any Zope guys have a good explanation for why that happens?
