I am new to zope web application I want to creat a tab interface I copy following code form somebody else <html metal:use-macro="container/standard_template.pt/macros/page"> <div metal:fill-slot="body"> <table width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" tal:define="username user/getUserName; selectedTab request/tab> </table> </div> </html> When i test it I get Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: KeyError Error Value: tab How can i fix this problem? Thanks

RDBMS Applications and direct calling of script(python) and sql methods

I am looking to use zope for a database driven web application. For the most part zope looks like a good fit and will definatly speed up development. However, there seems to be a major security issue for database driven sites. Lets take simple example, assume that each user has an id that is keyed to his 'stuff'. The zsql method must be passed this id to access his stuff. This is all fine and good, A script(python) method could provide this to the zsql method behind the scenes without any great issue. The problem comes in when the user attempts to access this zsql method from via its url. Going this route he could pretty easily supply and arbitrary id and get access to information that he shouldn't have. This assumes that the user is aware of or can guess the name of the zsql method. This isn't enough of a protection in my mind. I am sorry if I wasn't super coherent in this post, I had a very long day and late night last night. Hi, How can I add a local filesystem directory with a python script ? With a DTML-method or pythonscript I receive the following traceback. Problem with software release on Zope.org

Good day, I have a Software Package on my Zope.org member site and for some reason it will not allow anonymous users to access the URL. It prompts users to login. I have every part of the Package, as well as my Member folder in the published state and is still prompts anonymous users. Programmatically Adding Product from DTML

Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there a way to add a product using DTML that goes to the initial form for setting properties (like id) For example, <dtml-call "manage_addFolder('testfolder')"> causes a folder with an id of 'testfolder' to be created. But, is there a way to go to the form that allows setting the id (instead of directly creating the folder without user interaction). The reason why I am asking is that I created a simple product that uses a form to initialize the product's properties. When, I select the Add drop down list and select my product, this form pops up and the action the form calls creates the product. However, I would like to be able to view a page that will bring up the form and create the product in response to filling out the form. This would allow me to create a site that allows student evaluations to be done (the product is the evaluation scores). If you can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Zope factory uses the file name not the instance method

I have two versions of an manage_addSomeForm. # zmi version manage_addTopicForm = PageTemplateFile('zpt/Topic_manage_addTopicForm', globals()) # edit version manage_addTopic = PageTemplateFile('zpt/Topic_manage_addTopic', globals()) The zmi version worked nicely. The product gets added etc. But the edit version, which is for the custom editing interface, did NOT work when I called it from a form: <input type="submit" name="/manage_addProduct/ots_Forum/manage_addTopic:method" class="button" tal:attributes="value i18n/new"> But if I call it with the filename of the Page Template instead, I get the behaviour I want. <input type="submit" name="/manage_addProduct/ots_Forum/Topic_manage_addTopic:method" class="button" tal:attributes="value i18n/new"> It is defined correctly in the constructors: constructors = (manage_addTopicForm, manage_addTopicAction, manage_addTopic, ) Does anybody know why it has this behaviour? Zope evaluation questions

Hi: I'm a new Zope user and I'm evaluating Zope for use in a few projects. One project is an online parts system for a truck manufacturer (about 3000 'hits' per day). This is a project we've been maintaining for a few years in Cold Fusion. While performance of the application is OK, we're concerned with CF's lack of extensibility, and we're also moving towards open source solutions. I have some questions about Zope I'm hoping you can answer: 1. Can you share experiences about using Zope with IIS? 2. Is it still absolutely necessary to use Zope behind another web server? Most of the info on the web I've found about not using Zope's web server is a few years old. 3. In terms of templating systems, do you find yourselves using DTML or ZPT? 4. If the initial Zope-based projects work out well, we're going to consider using Zope on a much bigger project. At peak times, this project has about 200 concurrent users. It'a a very database intensive application. Will Zope scale well to something of this size? The current version of this application is a load-balanced Cold Fusion setup. Thanks in advance! W. Hide from authenticated users

I have a little registration area that should be hidden from authenticated users (only accessable to anonymous). However, I can't seem to get this to work, the anonymous only always shows if someone is authenticated. Basically, I set the 'access content' and view permision to anonymous.
