Problem taking ownership of root folder

Hi, We have a problem on our site that we think is related to not having an owner on the root folder (hint gotten from this posting; http://mail.zope.org/pipermail/zope-cmf/2003-September/019425.html) However, when I log in and try to take ownership of the root folder I get this error message: Error Type: Unauthorized Error Value: manage_takeOwnership was called from an invalid context Same error message if I select to update ownership on sub-objects or not. Calling methods on products

Help! I have a Zcatalog in which I can add actors successfully. I can also add a product for serving sequential tokens. My intent is to use the tokens to id the actors in the actor constructor. My problem is that I don't know how to get the constructor to call the getToken() method on the token generator. I thought container.generator.getToken() should do it but I get a keyError saying non-existent 'generator.getToken'. The generator is subclassed from SimpleItem and also Acquisition.Implicit. Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong? TIA Richard Jennings

Script caching

Hello, I need to cache the results from a parameterized python script that makes a parameterized database call for a long period of time (about a day) as the data doesn't change much. I have associated the script w/ a ram_cache manager and cranked up the expiration time but don't to be getting the consistent behavior I was expecting. The documentation in general for the zope caching seems pretty impoverished. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks, C>T>

_allowed_meta_types

Hi, This is a subject which has already appeared in the mailing list, but I could not see an outcome, eg: Jeff Kowalczyk jtk(a)adelphia.net Wed, 1 May 2002 01:09:20 -0400 et al. I have some meta_types which depend on some services which can be started/stopped. It would be elegant to stop the addition of instances when the services are not running by adding and removing the classes from the add list, as appropriate. Has anybody solved the problem of modifying the add-list programmatically? TIA Richard Jennings

So I had my zope list on digest and didn't see Paul's note about the right ZEO to get until just now. I had gotten a newer copy from CVS, but not the right one, and the version from ZODB3-1-something works fine. Caching problem solved. Thanks, Paul.
