ZEO clients aren't duplicated

We just did an upgrade to Zope 2.6.2 and ZEO 2 (we were on 2.6.1 and ZEO 1 before). We ended up setting up clients on port 8080 this time, rather than running them on 80 as we did before, but we're using the same round robin Squid load balancing setup we were using previously (from Toby Dickenson's howto here: http://www.zope.org/Members/htrd/howto/squid) What we're noticing, though, is now it looks like changes we make through our rewritten URLs are occurring on one client and not necessarily happening immediately on the other clients. I'm guessing this is a caching issue or something that we didn't have to deal with with ZEO 2, but I'm not sure. I do see these error messages in the log: 2003-10-07T13:40:00 PROBLEM(100) ZCS:25346 Invalidate('\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\t', '') failed for _db: keys My custom_zodb.py is the basic: import ZEO.ClientStorageStorage=ZEO.ClientStorage.ClientStorage(('xxx.xxx.xxx.x xx',7700)) my startup line for a client looks like so: sudo -u zope /usr/bin/python2 $cwd/z2.py ZOPE_CLIENT=8106 -a xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -f 8021 -w 8080 -u zope --icp=8081 Any ideas? I've read the docs with ZEO about ClientCache, but I'm not sure I'm grasping the concept entirely. ~

Easiest thing to do is have a re-write rule for Apache to redirect the Zope stuff, and let the PHP stuff "pass thru". There are some PHP products for Zope, but I haven't tried them as it appears they all require PHP setup in Apache anyway. The pass thru method works fine for us. How does the Catalog get modified dates?

Hi, I have noticed that the dates for cataloged folderish types are not accurate. Specifically, the CMFPhotoAlbum dates that show up in the Catalog are wrong. I need for the 'modified' date or the 'ModificationDate' to be accurate. The weird part is that viewing the information in the ZMI shows the Last Modified date accurately. Please help. This has been driving me and my users crazy because my users publish and change photos and albums and the sorted list is all wrong. Here are two methods you can call directly to add or edit a user. If you want to use password/confirm, you'll have to compare them yourself. acl_users.userFolderAddUser(username,password,roles,domains) acl_users.userFolderEditUser(username,password,roles,domains)

OFS/Image.py strange error

Hi, I'm getting a very strange error during the development of my python based product. The error occurs only in one specific case, and the setup is quite complicated. The error happens inside Zope code, so I'm looking for hints how to proceed with debuging. The issue is that during a call to _read_data () in OFS/Image.py I get the following error: KeyError: validate Traceback: Module ZPublisher.Publish, line 98, in publish Module ZPublisher.mapply, line 88, in mapply Module ZPublisher.Publish, line 39, in call_object Module OFS.DTMLMethod, line 135, in __call__ However, the actual _read_data () happens inside the python product, so the original traceback is somehow lost. Here is the setup: I have a python product which defines a class that inherits ObjectManager (called Content). I have another classes DRFile/DRImage which inherit Zope's File/Image. Inside manage_addContent (), manage_addDRFIle () is called to create automatically new DRFile inside content: manage_addContent (): co = Content (id) self._setObject (id, co) co = self._getOb (id) co.add_part_web (default_part_id, default_part) add_part_web (pid, pdata): nid, title = get_default_id_title_for_file (pid, '', pdata) manage_addDRFile (self, id=nid, title=title, file=pdata) manage_addDRFile (): o = DRFile (id, title, '') self._setObject (id, o) if file: o = self._getOb (id) file_upload (o, file) Now file_upload (o, file) is the problem. It used to contain just: obj.manage_upload (file) But this line was generating the error. If I put raise 'ABC' just before, I get the 'ABC' exception, but if I put it just after I get this KeyError. I've managed to avoid this exception with: file_str = file.read () data, size = obj._read_data (file_str) content_type = obj._get_content_type (file, data, obj.__name__, 'application/octet-stream') obj.update_data (data, content_type, size) This is exactly the code from mange_upload () from Image.py, except string is passed (file.read ()) to _read_data () instead of actual FileUpload object. This error happens only in one specific case. I can upload the file manually through Zope management interface. I can also upload many other files without any problem. I could imagine something is wrong with FileUpload object, but I don't know how to proceed with the debugging because I don't know how it is possible that _read_data () produces the traceback which doesn't have anything in common with the way it is called ? Hi, I've just created a little dtml script to carry out user registratin... when a user fills in the form he should be added as a site user and thus added to acl_users. The structure I got is the following /Zope Root Folder / Parent Folder / acl_users / Registration folder - registerForm.html - registerAction.dtml The dtml method is one I've found listed on loads of sites .... <h2>User Registration</h2> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('username', '<username>')"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('password', '<password>')"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('confirm', '<confirm>')"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('roles', ['Member'])"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('domains', ['Domain1'])"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('submit', 'Add')"> <dtml-call "acl_users.manage_users(submit='Add', REQUEST=REQUEST)"> I'm getting no errors reported but also I'm getting no user created in the folder... what's going wrong? POSKeyError when registering new user via ZMC

I've currently got Zope-2.6.2 running on linux and have just tried to install the latest version of ZMC (Membership Manager). I've managed to get it running after solving a few problems such as removing the self parameter from methods such as the passwordPolicy script etc.... Now I've got this one problem that I just can't solve... I've found loads of postings on forums about similar PosKey problems but can't seem to find anything that matches my particular case. All I'm doing is trying to register a new user by using the joinForm.... I add the new user name and password and click on Register and keep getting ... Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. dear zope, i just heard about zope, therefore currently reading The Zope Book at your website http://zope.org/Documentation/Books/ZopeBook/2_6Edition . since i dont have the luxury of fast internet connection, i am wondering if theres any downloadable format (a zip that contains multiple html files of the zope book) so that i can read it offline ? if theres any , could you show me the location / url, since i couldnt find it even though i used that search box. thanks khrisna ~pls excuse my english~

explicit object reference without acquisition

I would like to call an Zope object (and pass variables to it) located in a folder that is not reachable by acquisition from a DTML method. When I tried the following it failed: E.g. If I have a dtml method in the folder "/a/b" called index_html. Inside of this dtml method I have the following statement <dtml-var expr="c.d.e.(var1='var1')"> The Zope folder object "/c/d/e" exists and has a DTML method inside it called index_html that references the variable var1. When I try to evaluate the above expression, I get the following error: Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: __call__ What am I doing wrong? I would like to make use of objects inside of Zope that are not reachable by acquisition via the <dtml-var>' or <dtml-call>' methods.
