I think the purpose of PCGI has already been made apparent. I wanted to comment that I think it is far from obsolete. There are significant reasons for wanting to run zope and apache in combination, and PCGI is very desirable in such cases. Reasons for this range from support of legacy CGI or PHP applications, to the need to maximize performance on large static objects (for which I find zope performance is still not very impressive). Is there a zope product which does collaborative project management -- maintains calendars, outputs gant charts, finds critical paths, etc? A quick google turned up nothing of use.lots of queries similar to this one, but nothing more.

I'm still not sure that I understand what PCGI does. But it sounds like if I don't know what it does and something doesn't ask for it specifically then I don't need it. Andreas, That isn't really a solution. Presumably the existing web server is preventing him from running Zope standalone on port 80 (and without root you cannot run there anyway). Running on port 8080 is often a real pain (or not allowed due to firewall issues). David, I sympathize. I have similar problems and I've also found it hard to find practical solutions. Error with MailHost object

Hi, I am trying to send mails with the mailhost object using the 'send' method and, according to whether the SMTP server I use, sometimes it works and sometimes I have the following error : SMTPRecipientsRefused: {'sebastientessier(a)bbs-one.fr': (550, 'RCPT TO:<sebastientessier(a)bbs-one.fr> Relaying not allowed')} I use Zope 2.6.2 with windows 2000. If someone can explain this to me...

Hello ! Sorry for lamer question. I has been used DTML, and some things are don't know in ZPT. How to I replace this DTML pseudo-code with ZPT: 1.) === DTML === <dtml-if logined=1> <table>SomeTable1</table> <dtml-else> <table>SomeTable2</table> </dtml-if> ==ZPT== ?????? 2.) How to define multiple (array) variable in zpt ? Like this: MyArray=[['A',1],['B',2],['C',3]] 3.) How to I raise and catch exception with ZPT ? Opening a ZOPE file object ?

Is it possible to open a file-object stored in a Zope folder through a python script using open(), receiving a standard file object, that can be passed to functions provided by standard modules (such as csv) ? f=open(self.index_html), does not work, because open takes only a string as argument. Is there a ZOPE function returning a standard file handler ? (Could not find one in the API docu, but this may be because I am new.) Or how to process a file stored in Zope through a python script ? (Ideally, I would like users to be able to upload files, have them processed and download them again. This seems to be possible with LocalFS, but is it possible from within ZOPE?)
