ImportError: ./_imaging.so: undefined symbol: PyType_IsSubtype

After following instructions to install PIL into zope from http://www.zope.org/Members/regebro/PIL_zope i get this error ImportError: ./_imaging.so: undefined symbol: PyType_IsSubtype I am using zope 2.1.6 and tried both versions of PIL (1.1.3 and 1.1.4) both give the same error What is wrong? Im going mad here.

Son of a..., that worked! I don't understand it. Does this rely on the " />" at the end to close the B tag or does the tal interpreter close it automatically? REQUEST.set question

I'm going through the code examples in the Zope Bible and I can't get the following to work: I've created a Python(Script) called 'hello' with 'name' on the parameter list and the following script body - return "Hello %s!" % name and a DTML Document with - <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('name', 'John')"> <dtml-var hello> when I view the document I get Error Type: TypeError Error Value: hello() takes exactly 1 argument (0 given) I understand that Zope should get the parameter from the REQUEST object automagically for me but it doesn't seem to do that. Is it me, or the book? Could someone shed some light on this..... FYI, I'm using a binary release of Zope 2.6.1 Thanks, Mark.

Serving file from the local file system

Greeting: I am interested in serving files (such as index_dtml) from the local filesystem so that I can export that file system with nfs and allow multiple people to work with the file ect. I have tried two products LocalFS-0.10.1, and FSFolder-0-1-2. Neither product seems to do exactly what I want. One of my concerns is that I don't want to have to restart the server for the changes to take effect,the other is that I would rather not have to 'import' the files either after they have been changed. I was wondering if anybody had some suggestions in regard to this. thanks very much -matthew

TAL and Zclasses

Hi, I asked this to weeks ago and didn't get any respons so I try again. I couldn't 'find it anywhere. Till now I did everything with dtml, external python scripts, python scripts and zclasses. Gradualy I want to switch over to pagetemplates and external python products. The first thing I want to do is converting the dtml to pagetemplates in the actual sites. These sites are based on a lot of Zclasses. For instance: <dtml-with batest> <dtml-var index_html> </dtml-with> Where batest is an instance of a basic element of our content management system. After reading zpt docs (Zopebook and docs on devshed), searching in the mailing list archives I came to the following equivalent: <tr><td tal:define="batest here/batest" tal:content="batest/index_html"></td></tr> This only works in the way that it can find the index_html method (dtml) in the Zclass batest is an instance of. It won't render (it won't find) the other dtml-methods or any other object in the Zclass wich the index_html calls. So how do I do a 'dtml-with' in tal? Somebody asked the same question a couple of months ago but I couldn't find an answer in the mailing list archives. Regards, Henny van der Linde

transaction-objects

Hello, I have a problem concerning transaction-objects(ZODB/Transaction.py). I get the TA-Object from the ZODB.Connection.Connection.tpc_finish Method: "def tpc_finish(self, transaction):" In the TA-Object is a list called _objects where the affected objects are stored. This is insane ... I have an example (using DTML) of this working perfectly and an example (using TAL) where it doesn't work at all: I have a DTML method which is a form that allows users to add their name (staff_name), some text (description) and a link (link_url) Details: <textarea name="description" rows="10" cols="60"></textarea> --- on submit it calls a DTML method named addEntryAction which calls a python method 'add' <dtml-call expr="add(staff_name, link_url, description)"> --- the python method creates a file and adds the description (and the other parameters) # create a unique file id id='message_%d' % len(context.objectIds()) # create the document context.manage_addProduct['OFSP'].manage_addFile(id, title="", file=description) ----- then you get booted back to the page that iterates through all the postings. this is a TAL file called index.html name wrote on date and added the link: link saying news <hr> ------ Everything works and displays except description which displays as the word description. When I add an item and then go back and look at the file created - the text is always 'description' no matter what I typed. What's going on here??? Kate
