Hi, in our tests ZCatalog don't work well with Localizer, zcatalog don't evaluate DTML. Is there a way to catalog multilingual sites? Website For Computer User Group (CUG)

I am the new volunteer webmaster for a small computer user group (CUG), and I've been charged with doing a major redesign. I would like to use some Zope-related product like CMF or Plone, but I don't know which one is best for me. I basically want a site where users can do the following: - download (and maybe upload) CUG presentations and other documents - Discuss tech news - Ask other members about technical problems that they're having. Also, I would like all of the users to register, but I would like to make that process as easy as possible. Having said all that, what's the best option? Squishdot looks nice, but does anyone have experience doing something similar with Plone or CMF? I'm assuming that this type of question gets asked fairly regularly, but I looked online for a couple of hours and couldn't find an answer. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! passing a variable from one form to another

I have a form that opens up, gets date and location from the user and then calls an sql method to insert a row with those parameters into a table in the database. It also pops open a persistant window with another form to collect statistics from the user. This all works well. The pop-up form calls a sql method and updates the information in the row created above. I want to pass the date and location to the pop-up form so that the user only has to select these the first time (I'll leave a cookie to remember). How do I do this - I've been using REQUEST but don't seem to be finding the right syntax. Kate

Zope Roadmap

Hi Zopers While developing with Zope 2.6.2 and Python 2.3.2 in different projects I was wondering what the state of future releases of Zope would be. Zope 2.7 is promised to support Python 2.3 which would be nice. Zope 3's component architecture would be even nicer! Looking at the information at http://dev.zope.org/Projects/ it is not clear how far the coming releases are. For example I read: "Zope 2.7 is tentatively planned to be released in Q1 2003.". What does this mean? Can somebody give an up-to-date indication of what we can expect when? Any help needed with the development? ;-) thanks and kind regards André

Localizer not showing up in dropdrown-nox

Question about Localizer: it's installed in the Products-folder, it shows up in the ZMI-Control-Panel without errors, but it does not show up in the ZMI drop down box to add it to a Plone Site. What's wrong? I'm using Zope 2.6.1, CMF 1.3.2 W.

Upload Zip files

I am trying to use ZipFolder (http://zope.org/Members/snej/ZipFolder) to upload and unpack a zip file. It seems to work fine when used from the ZMI but I would like to use it outside of the ZMI. I managed to find the dhtml files used in the ZMI but I am having trouble adapting them. Any place where this is working outside of the ZMI? Samples? Other strategies?

Dear Sir I am using Zope 2.6, now I want to install CMFDocMgt but it does not work, it has an erro like this when I start the Zope 2003-12-19T16:01:52 ERROR(200) Zope Could not import Products.CMFDocMgt Traceback (innermost last): Module OFS.Application, line 541, in import_product Module Products.CMFDocMgt, line 9, in ? Module Products.CMFDocMgt.config, line 3, in ? ImportError: No module named Archetypes.public Coul you tell me how to install CMFDocMgt, I also install RevisionManager Product.

AUTHENTICATED_USER and :method calls

Im having some weird problems with AUTHENTICATED_USER... I have a form that calls a function called "newReport" using the following code <form> <input type=submit name="newReport:method" value="New"> </form> Although I am logged in as the user "techy1", if I access AUTHENTICATED_USER from within newReport using the following code: user = str(self.REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER) I get 'Anonymous User'. However the code still runs with the permissions of techy1 if I call newReport normally (<form action="newReport">) everything works correctly. Any ideas?

Location and Status Bars

Lots of information gets displayed by the location and status bars of a zope system user's system. In some instances it presents a privacy or security issue. I'd like to turn them off, force them to blanks, or whatever's necessary to make them bland and uninteresting. I've seen this topic come up occasionally, but a quick Google did not turn up anything relevant. You can use Javascript to write stuff into the status bar. And you can open a window without a status bar and a locsation bar using window.open() in Javascript, but I have not seen any comments suggesting a global solution. Any thoughts, hints, etc?
