VideoCapture module fails under Zope on Win32

I've been playing with the python VideoCapture webcam module (http://videocapture.sourceforge.net/) and thought: wouldn't it be nice to wrap this in a Zope product! Yes, yes it would, I agreed with myself. Webcam controllable directly from Zope... Unfortunately I quickly seem to have hit a hurdle I can not get over. The VideoCapture module can not seem to open the device when running under Zope. The code works perfectly fine, using Zope's python version, when run from the command line outside of Zope... but inside Zope the identical (cut/paste) code always fails. The error message returned by the vidcap.pyd when trying to connect to the camera device is generic, so I can't see what specifically the problem is (if the windows error code is any more specific). I have the source, of course, but I'm not a c++ person so have no compiler. Anyhow it seems doubtful I'd be able to get around whatever the problem is. I'm just wondering if anyone might be able to enlighten me on possible reasons for this behaviour. I think vaguely recall that Zope on Windows runs at some sort of lowered privileges (but i could remember incorrectly; I don't know how these sorts of things work on Win32). Could this be the cause? Session timeout

Hi, I experienced some problems with session timeouts. with Zope 2.5.*, I used to set ZSESSION_TIMEOUT_MINS=0 to enable infinite sessions, and it worked well. But now, with Zope 2.6.1, it seems that the same option does not work the same way: session timeouts are no longer infinite, but set to a very short length of time. Is this a bug, or a feature ? File Upload via form (with other form variable) and storing it in a database

How would I go about uploading a file via a form and store it in a postgres database using zope/zpt. I've never do this. I've used zope/zpt/zsql when dealing with forms before but never with a input type of "file". Any help or guidance would be appreciated. urgent! wrong query results on next/previous urls in ZSQL/Zsearch

Hi folks, I'm 3 days before rollout of my first Zope project and now discover my ZSQL / Z Search Interface yields wrong query results! Only the first 20 query results are o.k., navigating around with next/previous "forgets" the user search form inputs constructing the SQL WHERE clause. Details: 1. I Use Zope 2.6.0 with python 2.1.3 and mysql 3.23-48. 2. A direct test of the ZSQL in the test tab works perfectly, e.g. searching all userids starting with C produces 20 results, you click "next 20 results" and get the next 20 hits and so on. 5. When using the Zope-generated Z Search page templates, you can also choose your query parameter C% and get the first 20 hits correctly. BUT: IF YOU NOW PRESS NEXT 20 RESULTS, YOU GET THE 20 VERY FIRST ROWS OF THE WHOLE TABLE! 6. A MySql Trace shows that the first query is SELECT * FROM usertable WHERE userid LIKE C%; this is fine clicking the "next url" yields another query with SELECT * FROM usertable; 7. Obviously something must be wrong with the "next url": <a tal:condition="next" tal:attributes="href string:${request/URL0}?start:int=${next/first}" It does not know about the SQL query parameters from the first call!? 8. Any ideas how to navigate correctly through this ZSQL result ? When I compare to the ZSQL test tab, there a much longer url is composed when going to the "next 20 results" link. Inserting an object automagically on folder creation

Hello everyone, A long time ago I posted some question and finally made it to the creation of my first product, now I'm back I'm still thinking on how I will design my product but here are some caracteristics I'd like my product to have A) I'd like to create two way to represent data. In the first one the data is stored in in ZODB, in the second one the data is stored in a (possibly) remote database server. So I intend to do it this way : - Zpeople `- ZpeopleItemContainer (inheriting from Folder) `- ZpeopleItem (inheriting from SimpleItem) `- ZpeopleSQL (any pointer on how I can do this) I'd like ZpeopleSQL and ZpeopleItemContainer to have the same contract (ie: a search method with different flavour of search). Last but not least, 'a' being a ZpeopleSQL instance and 'b' being a ZpeopleItemContainer instance. Is it possible through some clever use of acquisition to acces the same kind of internal information by the same kind of url ? Example: localhost/folder/a/p1/name -> name of people whose id is p1 (DB version) localhost/folder/b/p1/name -> name of people whose id is p1 (ZODB version) B) I'd like to insert on a Product creation three objects. I use this code : def __init__(self, args) : self.clientsDB = ZpeopleSQL('clientsDB', dbConnection) self._setObject('clientsDB', self.clientsDB) is it gonna work ? mySQLUserFolder/FTP question

Hi, I have a mysqlUserFolder in /my/folder, and have tried FTPing to my Zope server with username user@my/folder with the correct password, but it will not authenticate me.
