Another query for you all The project i am working on requires an editor (or an owner) to add new docuements to a particular section of the magazine - But before the docuement can be added, the content of the doc must be approved or rejected by the manager of the site which is me. The quesiton is how do i go about setting this up, If you need more specification on the project please ask. $INSTANCE_HOME/var/Data.fs is your Zope object database. Don't purge it, whatever you do! Pack the Database in Zope's Control_Panel/Database to get rid of stale revisions of transactions since past. This should be a regular occurance for you (i.e. have a rule for doing this, like: pack the database to remove previous revisions of objects over 3 days old). 200M is really not that large comparitively. If you pack it, though, you are quite likely to see a big improvement. acquisition, traversal, acl_users and security

Hi all, I'm having a problem, but first let me explain generally what I'm trying to do. I'm want to provide alternative management screens to those found at /manage. The goal is also not to use any additional products that don't come with a vanilla zope install (actually, I've allowed myself the luxury of Formulator, but that doesn't matter for these purposes). So, I've added a folder called 'control' that contains all of my management screens. These work pretty nicely (even though I say so myself ;-) ). Now, users just need to append /control to their url and they get quite a user friendly editing experience. In the 'control' security tab, I've left everything on 'Acquire Permissions' except for 'View', which I've limited to 'Manager' only. This works well when the user logging in is defined in an acl_users that is a sibling of 'control', but does not work when the acl_users is defined further down the tree and 'control' is being acquired. e.g. - site_root_folder - acl_users - control - folder1 - acl_users /site_root_folder/control works; /site_root_folder/folder1/control raises Unauthorized when the user is defined in site_root_folder/folder1/acl_users instead of site_root_folder/acl_users. I did a little searching on this list, and I think found that this is an explicit feature of the zope security policy that is designed to stop people from circumventing security by using url traversal tricks - which I guess is effectively what I'm trying to do. So, my questions are: Is my diagnosis right? Is there any way around this problem without going to filesystem code? Does anybody have a suitable __of__ method (or somesuch) that would allow me to achieve what I want if I do have to use fs code? cheers, tim

Error message when changing password

I'm getting the following error message when trying to change user password: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: NameError Error Value: global name 'pw' is not defined This is Zope 2.6.1 Any ideas? thanks

Hi, * How you do calling it? * It is DTML Method? If you will call it from root of your Zope web, it will show only and just root subfolders. If you want something like sitemap, look at zope howtos or products section, before few years here are published very good sitemap (maybe at times of Zope 1.x). I use it at 2.5.1 as curious management interface only for my purpose. List subfolders within any folder

Hi *, I'm having problems with a relatively easy task. I have a DTML Method which contains: <dtml-in expr="objectValues('Folder')" sort="title" skip_unauthorized> <li><a href="&dtml-absolute_url;"><dtml-var title_or_id></a></li> </dtml-in> Which when I "view" on it's own happily lists the folders within my root folder. Yet somehow when I reference this object with another DTML Document, it list nothing?! Any help appreciated. Regards, Michael

Passing arguments to a Z SQL method
