Virtual Host breaks IssueTracker?

I have IssueTracker (v.49b) installed in the root folder /help. I have a VirtualHostMonster set up to map a second host name "help" to /help. (using the Mappings tab) This is running under Zope 2.6.1b. If I try to access IssueTracker through the normal url with a /help at the end, it works fine. If I try to access it through the mapped URL, it works, in the sense the the IssueTracker home page comes up when I use the help url, but if I try to look at an actual issue, I get the traceback at the end of this message. Is it a known thing that using virtual hosts breaks some products? Is there a standard workaround? __bobo_traverse__ and context.

I have a Zope product that uses a 'skins' folder to allow easy customisation. Using a custom __bobo_traverse__ I am able to check various subpaths and return the correct object, HOWEVER the returned object is in the context of the skins folder, which screws up navigation. How do I make an object appear to be in the current location rather in the skins folder? I've tried working out how CMF portal_skins does it and believe it has something to do with __of__, but can't figure out exactly how.

ZCatalog - Full Update Deletes Valid Entries

I have a CatalogAware ZClass. It puts itself into the the catalog quite nicely, and shows up in the Catalog tab properly. I create a new instance of this ZClass. All is well. It appears in the catalog. If I go to its entry in the catalog, select it, hit update, no problem. Still there. If I go to Advanced, and hit Update (full Catalog update), the entry disappears. If I got to Find Items, select my ZClass, and add them back in, they come back. A full update now no longer causes them to disappear. Just like my last problem, this did not always happen. To my knowlege, nothing has been changed. Of course, my knowledge is lacking, which is why I'm writing this message. Thanks in Advance. Edward

Permissions for manage_delObject

I don't even know where to start with this problem. I have a folder in zope. In it are a bunch of subfolders with webpages, and scripts to run some web interface tools we are developing. The tools are run in each of the subfolders using inheritance. eg. /www/webManager (web interface to the file system) /www/deleteFiles (script to delete files) /www/finance/ (finance pages go here) /www/it/ (info tech pages go here) Now, it used to work just fine. Then something breaks. What Doesn't Work: I go to /www/it/webManager. Select some files to delete. Click delete. /www/it/deleteFiles is called. I get a login prompt, but no accout is accepted. Even my "god" account with Manager/Owner at Root. Error Type: Unauthorized Error Value: You are not allowed to access manage_delObjects in this context What Does Work: There are no problems with my create files script being called from /www/. It asks for a username and password, and then works fine. If I copy webManager and deleteFiles into /www/it/ it works fine. This makes me think there is an inheritance problem with using this script. However, I can now successfully use this tool in any subfolder off /www/it/. So...well there goes that idea. If I go to the root and give all permissions to Anonymous, it works fine. It does not work if I give all permissions to Authenticated. Permissions: At root Owner/Manager have all permissions. Anonymous has the basics (view etc). Authenticated has nothing. All folders are set to inherit permission with no extentions. I cannot stress enough how frustrating this is: It used to work fine, and to my knowledge I've changed nothing, and checked everything that could affect this. Any ideas what could be doing this?

If you mean a folder property, a dtml-method or a dtml-document, then both solutions work with A as a subfolder and B in root. You will have much better success installing zope from the tarball on SuSE. You will also be required to install python 2.1.3. This is not optional as zope 2.6.x will crash with python 2.1.2. You will find it best to install python 2.1.3 and zope 2.6.x in new directories leaving your current insallation alone so that you can go back to your original configuration in the event something goes wrong during you migration. hth, Mike > > > --On Freitag, 7.
