I am attempting to call a ZSQL method from within a python script with parameters and the result object I get back is not what I expected. Specifically, if I print len(results) inside my python script, it tells me that there are zero elements in my result. If I test the ZSQL method in the ZMI and supply the two parameters it needs by hand, I see the results I expect to see. Obviously my query is incorrect in some way. Is there a way to observe the literal sql statement that is being passed into my DBMS? I have found it extremely useful to consult the 'SQL used' area on the test tab of ZSQL method when troubleshooting composed SQL statements. Is there anyway to get the same information programmatically inside a Python script?

Problems with assigning proxy roles to a python script

Hello, I've been working on my first major project with Zope and I need to allow members of the public to register with the site (which gets them an entry in acl_users, and a very restricted role). I know that I need to use a proxy role to make the script work - giving it manage users privileges. I created a role, adduser, which only had the 'manage users' privilege. When I tried to assign this role as a proxy role to the add-a-user script I got the following error: You are not authorized to change addUserScript because you do not have proxy roles. (Also, an error occurred while attempting to render the standard error message.) I scratched my head, and then added all of the permissions that Anonymous User has to the adduser role, and I got the same error. I then added the 'change proxy roles' permission, and still got the error. Out of frustration I assigned the script the Manager role as a proxy role and it worked fine, and anonymous users were able to make themselves a user account. I'd really rather not use the manager role as a proxy role for this script if I can avoid it - it seems a little dangerous. Can anyone shed light on what's happening? why am I Anonymous

Hi all, I have installed Shanes VerboseSecurity. I am logged in as user robert However VerboseSecurity reports as foolows Unauthorized: Your user account does not have the required permission. Access to 'listFolderContents' of (PloneSite instance at 9d31850) denied. Your user account, Anonymous User, exists at (unknown). Access requires List_folder_contents_Permission, granted to the following roles: ['Manager', 'Owner']. Your roles in this context are ['Anonymous']. when I step through the code in DCWorkflow a call to getSecurityManager() is executed. the manager returned has a property _context. In this _context the authenticated user is listed as having no roles at all. Why is that so? This seems not to have any effect. I do not see any exception or requests to authenticate. Problems with creating a ZClass that inherits the ZImage base class

If someone can help me, that would be great. I'm trying to create a new ZClass that is essentially a ZImage object that is catalog-aware. In the creation of the ZClass I have listed Catalog-aware and then ZImage as inherited base classes. The problem is when I try to create a new instance of this new ZClass. I created a form to be accessed by the constructor which includes id, title, file, and some other variables (included in the propertysheet), but after entering values into the form, and trying to create the object, the only variables the object gets are the ZImage built-in variables (i.e. content-type, width, height), and the content-type always appears as text/plain instead of image/jpeg or related. I am using the following code in my constructor (the ZClass is called iWorld_Entry) <dtml-with "iWorld_Entry.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['id'], REQUEST)"> <dtml-call "propertysheets.iWorldProps.manage_editProperties(REQUEST)"> </dtml-with> If anyone has any ideas that would be wonderful. Zope request lockup on ZEO setup

Dear List, since two days I am now banging my head against a seemingly simple Zope setup which just does not want to work. I need to install a Zope server with to instances running against the same object database via ZEO. This same setup is working flawlessly in our development environment. To make a clean install, I started from scratch and downloaded Zope-2.6.2b2 (the full Linux binary version) and ZEO-2.0.1b1. I set up ZEO to run from the Zope-2.6.2-Diretory and creatade a new Directory for the first Zope instance. Starting the instance without ZEO works flawlessly, a new Data.fs is created in INSTANCE_HOME/var. Starting ZEO also does not produce any errors neither on the console nor in the ZEO_EVENTS.log and a new Data.fs is created in ZOPE_HOME/var, where ZEO is running. Now, when I install the custom_zodb.py into the INSTANCE_HOME, the Zope server still comes up against ZEO. I can watch the Data.fs in ZOPE_HOME grow as the initial objects are created. But the first request (whatever it is, e.g. http://localhost or http://localhost/manage) blocks indefinitely. According to top, Zope is idling along and doing nothing and according to ethereal, the request does not trigger *any* traffic to the ZEO server and no response is sent back to the web-browser. I tried to find the place, where the systems is blocking but got nowhere. I used sys.settrace to trace all function calls only to find, the sys.settrace is thread specific ;-/ no dice. I am now utterly helpless and have no idea how to go on. installing Zope

dear I've downloaded zope version 2.6.1 for windows . when installing it , at about 26 % of the install progress it aborts itself. I'm running windows 2000 what could be the problem? many thanks naser

PHOTOALBUM

Hi all, I live in US but my family is from Spain...anyone know any good product for Zope that allow me to share pictures and files with then? The idea is to have a zope server where they can add photo album and photos, it must have an easy user interface (that's important considering that last time I saw my father trying to use the computer he was using the mouse as a TV remote lol ) , so far i have seen 2 products, Zphotoalbum and photo and photo folder... anyone has any advice?? zcatalog: truncating getpath(data_record_id_)?

Hi I have my Zope return a list of URLS from a ZCatalog in this out-of-the-box way: <a href="<dtml-var "Catalog.getpath(data_record_id_)">"><dtml-var id></a> The objects in this particular Catalog are all subclassed objects of a certain zclass. When users click on the above links, they see metadata results. I want to change this. Instead, I want users to see the default view of the subclassed object's container. Should I be trying to figure out how to truncate the results of getpath(data_record_id_)? How do I do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Anthony

Images disappear after upgrade to 2.6.1

I just upgraded to 2.6.1 and after doing so, the images for Portal Folder, CMF BTree Folder, and Skinned Folder seemed to have disappeared. Instead of seeing the image of a folder for example, I am seeing the text "Skinned Folder". Has anyone else experience this problem? Any suggestions?
