Set "uncontained" attributes on a Implicitly wrapped object.

I already found a solution for this but I'm asking to see if there might be another way to do this? I need to save a referens to a acquision wrapped object "Configure" in a object which at some point doesn't have it's own context (just a single wrapped object). I save this volatile and always uniquely for each REQUEST object (see CMF skinable for an example). Just assigning it to the attribute self._v_skinfolder=sf and the accessing it as self.skinfolder makes it contained in the object (aq_chain would say [<Skinfolder>, <Object>]) But by saving it as a tuple: self._v_skinfolder=(sf,) it's not directly contained in the <Object> so when accessing it self.skinfolder[0] it's returned with its original context. Is there anyway to make uncontained attributes of an object that inherits Acquisision.Implicit? Typecasting in DTML (or is this Python?)

Hello again list... I need to typecast [amount] as a string - but only within the history string. in my attempt below, history finished up as.... Advertising authority number 25020030718 For $['amount'] Where I need amount to show up as the specific amount. <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('amount',_['amount'])"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('history',_['history1'] + REQUEST['authority'] + ' For $' + _.str(['amount']))"> I've tried a few variants, but not had much joy. ZPT to Python(script) to a different page

Newbie requests Style help please... I have a ZopePageTemplate containing a form. The action of the form points back to itself. This puts the user in a loop. At the top of the form, a tal:define statement calls a python script to perform validation and decision making logic. If the validation fails, as it will on the first ZPT rendering, the script returns the validation errors and the user is still on the originating ZPT containing the form. If the validation fails, due to bad input, the script returns the validation errors and the user is still on the originating ZPT. If the validation passes, I would like the user's browser to display different ZPTs based on the script's decision logic. What are the various means for the python script to cause the user's browser to display a new ZPT/zope object/html page? Or should I pass back to the ZPT and write tal:condition tags? Then what are the various means for the ZPT to cause the user's browser to display a new ZPT/zope object/html page? Can I simulate a user clicking on a link? thanks in advance

Handling of Multiple :list's

Hello List, or should I say Hallo :List =) I'm trying to work out how to do, or even if it is possible, to handle two :lists within nested in statements... large number of users in standard acl_users ?

Hi, is it possible to store a large number of users in a standard acl_users folder, provided that very few are connected at the same time ? I'd want to store around 20000 user ids there, all six characters long, plus their password. The online shopping website will have a low traffic, I don't think that more than 10 users will ever be logged in at the same time, probably even less than that, but there are 20000 possible users (max). Is there any drawback with this setup ? Should I use something like exUserFolder instead ? bye, and thanks in advance. Jerome Alet

Questions re: REQUEST, external methods; newbie stupidity at play

Greetings: I realize I am likely doing stuff in the cruftiest way possible: Rather than flame if you have the urge, a link to specifics on better ways to do what I am doing would be appreciated. I have a set of external methods that do some stuff to create and build an XML document. I am also doing a lot of logic in DTML and passing stuff back and forth to these external methods. A great simplification of what I am doing: ---------------------- <dtml-call expr="REQUEST.set('myxmldoc',createxmldoc())">   <dtml-call expr="REQUEST.set('myxmldoc',addanode(myxmldoc[0],myxmldoc[1],databasevar)">  ---------------------- The problem is, that when I do this, re-using the myxmldoc var causes a __getitem__ attribute error. I have to use a new name, i.e. modxmldoc, to get around the error. OK, I thought, fine, so long as I can kill the original myxmldoc object, as I have many iterations of this and I do not want to end up with a huge amount of objects in memory, getting larger and larger. However, I can't figure out how to 'unset' myxmldoc - setting it to '' doesn't work, I get a string index out of range error. If I specifically set myxmldoc[0] and myxmldoc[1] to '', that works, but I still get the __getitem__ error when I attempt to re-use the variable. Suggestions? TIA, Bryan

zpt+formulator+DB retrieval

But problem is arising with the use of formulator using ZPT to retreive the values from database and its proper display. We want the help of the entire community in solving this issue.
