ZCTextIndex parse error

Hi, I've got a zope 2.6.1 (on solaris if that matters) and a ZCatalog setup with a ZCTextIndex. I also have a search/results pair of page templates that provide an interface for users to actually search the catalog. All is well with most sorts of queries, except that inputing something like 'word1 NOT word2' throws up a "Parse Error" "Token 'EOF' required, 'NOT' found". The strange thing is that using 'word1 -word2' does work, as does 'word1 AND word2'. Sorry, I'm not able to provide a full traceback just at the moment as I don't have access to the root zope folder - and consequently the error_log *. Does anybody have any idea what's going wrong? cheers, tim * Which is a little niggle of mine. I understand the reasons for not appending the error traceback to the returned page, but it would be *very* handy to be able to add error_logs further down the tree so that developers can examine the errors without requiring access to the root zope folder.

LowConflictConnection does not quiet SESSION KeyErrors

Hi there We're using Zope 2.6.1 with the low conflict connection patch applied to TemporayFolder mentioned in http://mail.zope.org/pipermail/zope-dev/2003-March/019081.html and collector issue #848. I noticed that Zope 2.6.2b3 already has this patch applied. Unfortunately our error log is still rife with SESSION KeyErrors. We have a number of functional tests that test our app over HTTP that we run a couple of times a day and 4 out of 5 times we have to start all over because of session key errors. The error still occurs in "get" in Transience.py which seems to be same as what is mentioned in collector issue #848. Zope DTML zSQL Select from Oracle insert into MS Access

Hi, I've been trying (rather unsuccessfully I might add) to select some data from an oracle table, and insert it into another MS Access table. I'm trying to do this via a dtml method and a couple of zSQL queries. Has anyone here found a good way of achieving this? I've been trying many variants... this is my latest... Error/Bug with password management II - Scripted user creation

Fixed 1 problem, now stuck with another - I have a web form, ManageUsers, I use to run a script to create new usernames (w/password). After creating a new username, I restart my browser and try and log in using the new username. I get authorization errors. If I log in as a Manager, go to the acl_users folder, click on the new username, and next click save, WITHOUT changing anything, restart browser, try accessing the page with the newly created username, everything works as expected. ? Is Zope not committing the changes? Then I shouldn't be able to see the newly defined username in the management screen. Right? The only thing I think unique in my form ManageUsers is that it calls itself, i.e., <form action="ManageUsers" ... > and I use DTML to run the appropriate Python scripts. Again, no clue as to what's going on... TIA. Regards, Samir.

Does FSPythonMethod exist? On disk, non-restricted Python methods?

I develop for CMF largely by working off the filesystem (to easier use CVS), so I create all my ZPTs, PythonScripts, etc., using FileSystemDirectoryViews (FSDVs). I'd like to be able to create on-disk PythonScripts that aren't security restricted in the way a normal PythonScript is. Using External Methods isn't quite suitable because, while they aren't security limited, they can't exist in a FSDV; you have to add them to a normal Zope folder. Furthermore, by keeping the actual source code in an Extension file outside my CVS tree, it's a bit of a pain. k_vertigo has a Product (http://www.zope.org/Members/k_vertigo/Products/Products/FileSystemSite) that introduces FSExternalMethods, which are external methods that can be kept in a FSDV. This lets me create the External Method on disk, but still has the (smaller) problems of the actual code being in a separate directory. Is there a way to easily tweak the PythonScript product to remove its security limitations? Then I could copy it and use the modified copy for my unlimited scripts. Or (less pretty) a way to have ExternalMethods read from a file in their own directory? Or other ideas about the best way to go about this? dtml-sendmail and non-ascii chars in To: line

Hi, I'd like to send some mail with the <dtml-sendmail> tag. Unfortunately the To: line should include the real name of the recipient and the real name includes non ascii characters. I thought, I could do it with the quopri module, but since this zope instance runs on a python 1.5.2 base, I don't have "quopri.encodestring()" . Using a newer version of the quopri module gave me a Guarded.py error. What can I do? Thanks Bories v. dem Bussche

Where Is This Problem? Apache? Zope? SiteRoot??

Hi; This one is the strangest I've ever seen. I had another programmer develop a shopping cart for me built on EMarket. The site uses SiteRoot to proxy from Apache. Here's the problem as best I can describe it. If you go here: http://blackbeardale.com/ click to enter the store, then click either of the two entries, then try and "Add" a product, you get this error: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: TypeError Error Value: unsupported operand types for + No, correction, MAYBE you get this error. Maybe you don't. My programmer doesn't. My client does. Now, we have this same shopping cart installed on another client's site and it works just fine. We tried a number of things and ended up renaming folder and changing SiteRoots such that a working URL pointed to the problem site and viola! the site worked fine. So it appeared there was a problem in the proxy. Now, I'd done something different with this proxying: I'd pointed two URLs to the same SiteRoot, so I ripped one of them out of my httpd.conf file, rebooted Apache, reinstalled SiteRoot, and STILL it doesn't work. But it works fine with any other URL. What gives? beno RH7.3, Zope2.5.1, what else ya need?
