Hi, The online Zope doc is nearly silent about ZTUtils resources. Is there a real doc about this (Tree, Iterator, Batch) somewhere with some examples ? Thanks in advance. --Gilles

CookieCrumbler and http basic auth

Hello, I am new to Zope and new to this list. I am playing with a zope site on freezope.org trying to figure out how to handle authentication. I have read the Zope Book and have an understanding of the security/user/role setup, but I seem to have hit a block. I want to use forms to process the login and logout, so I installed a cookiecrumbler in the same folder that holds my acl_user folder. Now I am able to get to the login_form page and input my user and pw, but then during the redirect to the logged_in page, I still get the http basic authentication popup. Everywhere I look for help on cookiecrumbler, all I see is that I just need to "Just add a CookieCrumbler instance to the folder where your acl_users is located"... which I have done. Am I missing something? Thanks! Ben

mysql connections in External Methods

I have an external method that opens its own connection to MySQL and performs a few reads and updates, then I close the connection. Apparently closing the connection does not really close things off as the connections are persistent. Eventually, I run out and things grind to a halt. Is there a way to force the connection to really die? (The obvious alternative is to either have a single connection which persists in the external method or to fetch the connection from Zope, either of which will work, of course.)

NISUserFolder

hello, Please help. I work for Andrews University (www.andrews.edu) We are developing the new website and would like to authenticate users using NISUserFolder or better yet, LDAP. create Catalog via PythonScript?

I'm going to want to create catalogs in a number of folders. So I'd like a script - not only is it easier to edit than an External Method, but it uses acquisition so I can just put it at a top level and then use the calling URL to determine the location. But permissions are the problem: "You are not allowed to access ZCatalog in this context" Can this problem be overcome by something like what's in here: <http://www.zopelabs.com/cookbook/991933953> ?? thx __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? zope tal / external method woes continued...

text and html emails from zope

I have just installed the plone/zope bundle on windows XP and everything went OK. However when I try to install extra products like Epoz it does not work. Can anyone enlighten me? errors are ERROR(200) zope could not import Products.Epoz...... ........ ImportError:No module named Epoz regards garry

Zcatalog, full text index, and size issues

My Data.fs is growing by an average 200K each time I add an object to my application. Please note that I have added the code to cause a reindexing of the Catalog after such an object is added. I have narrowed this size increase down to being a result of calling the reindex_object() method in order to update my Catalog with the change. My question is if this is a side effect of having my classes be CatalogAware. I have a full text index that is rather lengthy. It handles the container object and all subobjects (possibly 200+ 'data element' objects). Once I removed my full text index, the size decreased to about 27K per operation. If my problem is a side effect of using a full text index or the ZCatalog, what alternative can I explore? I MUST be able to provide a search capability on the entire text, but I can't afford a 200K increase for each little change. I have to be able to handle 2K+ of these operations daily. ZODB startup error

Hi folks, I just tried Zope 2.6.2b3 on Red Hat 8.0 in order to check wether it fixes the "integer overflow in pack()" problem (Collector issue 946), and trying to start Zope now results in the error attached below. Is there any way to check the Data.fs file manually from the command line?
