How to restrict search path in portal_catalog(path='')

Hi, I have the following requirement. I just want to get the news items present in root folder only... /root not those in /root/Member's folders... using container.portal_catalog(meta_type='News Item',path=' ') I tried to use path argument as /root... But it doesnt work.... Some objects cannot be deleted programmatically?

Hi all, I cannot delete all my PortableHole User Folder LinkedFolder objects programmatically. But cache is deleted sucessfully. Did you kick me from errors, please? AttributeError __error_log__

Hi, I have a class which should behave like a simple folder. It uses a btree to store the values. I want to access it from a url like this: http://localhost:8080/myproduct/foo/myfolder/item1 If I try to access item1 I get the the folowing error: Module ZPublisher.Publish, line 150, in publish_module Module ZPublisher.Publish, line 114, in publish Module Zope, line 134, in zpublisher_exception_hook AttributeError: __error_log__ I tried to inherit from Explicit, Implicit or SimpleItem and even Zope2.6.2b3 This was discussed already but with no good solution: http://mail.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2002-December/127511.html Now I use BTreeFolder2, but I would like to avoid it, since I don't need most of it. Has somone a hint? thomas

WebDAV Metadata

Hi, --- Using WebDAV you are able to attach Metadata to a document by calling PROPPATCH and you can get this Metadata by calling PROPFIND ... Zope saves these Properties in the ZODB. Properties are handled by OFS.PropertyManager.PropertyManager and for the Presentation OFS.PropertySheets.PropertySheet is used ... --- I think it should be possible to "redirect" this Metadata, so a PROPPATCH would save the Metadata to 'MY' MySQL-DB and a PROPFIND would get it from 'MY' MySQL-DB ... Has anybody ever done something like this before? Any ideas how to manage this (in a product ...)? -- Thanks, Holger

Handle "Unauthorized" error message

Hi guys. I have a part of my site which is protected by password. All works fine and this is really a simple task with Zope(v.2.5.1), but now, how to prevent the unauthorized user to read the error message: Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Unauthorized You are not authorized to access this resource. blahblah How do i replace that with something more friendly?(a redirect to an error page would be great too). Thanks Paolo Dina P.S.: i know that Cookie Crumbler makes something similar, but i won't use it in my site.

Terminating signals in Zope 2.6.1 and OpenBSD?

Hi, I have problem in stopping Zope 2.6.1 on an OpenBSD. When using the .stop shell script in Zope 2.5.1 it brings down all processes, but in Zope 2.6.1 it doesn't kill anything. I have tried different signals mentioned in SIGNALS.txt (SIGTERM, SIGINT and SIGQUIT) without any result. Using -9 will kill of the first process but not the child which will be hanging. Any ideas how to get around this? mod_proxy static or dynamic?

I'm trying to get my rewrite rules up and working and all is well if I just use the L or R options at the end of the rewrite such as... RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://www.mysite.edu:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/www.mysite.edu:80/VirtualHo… [R] RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://www.mysite.edu:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/www.mysite.edu:80/VirtualHo… [L] But since I want to proxy to hide the long VHM url I want to use the P option. Only problem is, this doesn't seem to work. I'm using Redhat 7.2 with Apache 1.3.27 with mod_proxy compiled as a module. Here's the full line that's not working. RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://www.mysite.edu:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/www.mysite.edu:80/VirtualHo… [L,P] The mod_proxy page says you need to have it compiled in statically to the server to work with rewrite rules, is this true...anybody ever have this same trouble? ImportError after upgrade to Zope 2.6.1 ...

My knowledge of both python and Zope is pretty close to zero here, so please bear with me on what might be a most stupid question ... but ... Accessing acl_users in __init__() of Python Product

Hi! I need to access acl_users of the parent in the constructor of a python product. Acquisition seems to fail in this situation. Any hints? The function for creating the Python Product looks like this: def manage_addOOPServer(dispatcher, id=0, REQUEST=None): "Add a new OOPServer" oopserver=OOPServer(id) dispatcher._setObj(id, oopserver) Please CC to me, I am not on the list. thomas

Small annoyance with Zope, maybe with Mozilla as well.

Hi all, I've got an XHTML page that references external javascripts, and it seems that mozilla does not display single-tag javascript references properly (it treats it as an open javascript tag, and messes up the rest of the page). This may be to spec, I don't know it well enough to say. What I do know is that Zope seems to automatically turn <script></script> in to <script/>. I have a solution worked out for the moment, where I put a comment in between the tags, but this is not an ideal solution. Is there a setting in Zope somewhere that controls this? Or is it a bug that has been fix in a more recent version? My Zope version string is: "Zope 2.5.1 (binary release, python 2.1, linux2-x86), python 2.1.3, linux2" Thanks for anyone who may be able to shed some light on this. Alec Munro EOA Scientific Systems
